How to purchase with Google Opinion Rewards money?

Hi, all. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I just wanted to give it a try.

I have always been a f2p. A little while ago I learned about Google Opinion Rewards and decided to try it. I recently reached the $2 cash-out point but the app asked me to link my email to a PayPal account. So I created a PayPal account, linked my Gmail, and the $2 award showed up on my account.

Now my question is, how do I use this money to make a purchase in game? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have never used it before and I am not particularly tech-savvy. Thank you!

Hi @lightsmessenger

Not a dumb question

I have done this a few times, itā€™s a great way for us f2p to get an occasional deal.

When you tap on the deal, make sure itā€™s taking from PayPal. You should be able to tap the payment method and make sure the slider for your Google Rewards is set to ā€˜onā€™.

Try it on a cheap deal first! Just in case :crossed_fingers:

(I spent all mine on a months VIP)

Iā€™m in the same boat (F2P using Google Opinion Rewards), and I never had to use PayPal at all. I just accumulated credit, and when I went to make my (as yet) one and only purchase, it asked if I wanted to pay with my accumulated balance of Google Play credit. Super simple.

Thank you for your help! @Noble_Weasel @JonahTheBard

By the way, if you use free money to make purchases, are you still considered f2p? Or are you now c2p? Or perhaps pseudo-f2p? What about fc2p (free cheap-to-play)? lol

This is a deep philosophical question!

@FrenziedEye is the gatekeeper, I believe.

Iā€™ve not spent my moneyā€¦but SG is getting paidā€¦?

G2P - Google to play?

Wow, I did not know there was a huge discussion on this topic already! I guess Google to Play sounds like a more accurate description @JonahTheBard

Well, I have not made a purchase yet so for now, I can still confidently and proudly claim to be a f2p lol.

In all seriousness, what I really want to buy is one of those deals where your alliance members also get gems. I have always benefited from my teammatesā€™ purchases and I really want to do the same for them. Normally I am too broke to do so but with this free money, I might be able to do just that.

Good idea. Is there one on valentineā€™s Day?

Was just gonna say the same thing. I think last Valentineā€™s Day was the first such offer, so I would expect one again.

Great! I look forward to it!

By the way, speaking of the Valentineā€™s Day offer, Iā€™ve heard that someone jumped from one alliance to another just to get free gems from other peopleā€™s purchases. :joy:

Unfortunately Google Opinion Rewards and Google Surveys are not available here, gotta pay for everything myself!

Boo :persevere:

Give me an opinion and Iā€™ll give you a :+1:

It sucks that I canā€™t use it here and that is my opinion!

You, on the other hand, are a splendid chap!

Perhaps a VPN could solve the issue? hehe

I endorse both of these opinionsā€¦ now whereā€™s my free Google Play credit? LOL

For those above there is another thread on the topic of ā€œare you still F2P if you use rewards moneyā€

Itā€™s not ā€œfree moneyā€. Itā€™s real money. Youā€™re essentially working a part-time job doing surveys for google, getting paid below minimum wage, and then using that money to buy gems.

So youā€™re c2p.

If you are in an android device you donā€™t have to go through PayPal. If it is an Apple device Iā€™m not 100% sure

This is also a valid point. Now my head is hurting even more lol
