How is Defence position? Is left change to right?

Hi guys, I am totally confused, when we arrange defence team, for example I put Sonya to left wing I want to know is that the same position against enemy or it change like mirror? If I put Hero left side when I arranging defence team is that stay on left wing or go to right side?
Tonight I got confused please help me thanks
