See these 2 Proteus, all are 8/8. One is 3rd tier and other is 4th tier. Their damages are different.
Just to confirm if it’s designed that way?
The attack stat affects DoT total damage.
If you tap and hold on them while raiding you’ll also notice its higher. Troop attack bonus affects DoT total damage as well.
