🤔 Help @zephyr1 figure out what to do about Summons result posts in New Hero discussion threads

Let me help you there, friend @PapaHeavy. It’s actually if I as a singular Bardic organism, do not like something, then everyone else should feel the same way also.

Careful you don’t become a Barred-ic organism

My question is… these HOTM threads are started months before the hero is actually released. There is plenty of time at that point to discuss the hero’s merits or where they might be best suited… What do you expect people to talk about once it is released other than their good or bad luck with pulls? Only a select few have fully leveled the hero a few days after its release anyway, so it is all speculative… should it be that only people who have fully leveled the hero and have used them should be allowed to post or give opinions?

Thanks @JonahTheBard, it’s utterly unconscionable that I I left that out!!! …it was early, not enough caffeine and it’s raining!!

Maybe, just keep the beta thread, just replace the word beta, to current?
I normally don’t pay attention to the “off topic”, just looking for info to share with my alliance lucky players.

Have fun.

Again I repeat, there is no problem IMO post summon result in HOTM thread either beta or not, add summon included in tittle is great idea, but it is not mandatory.

The out of topic I was mention is this:
post Atlantis pull to Atlantis Next-Schedule thread.
This thread:

It should be moved to Atlantis Pull thread, not in the schedule atlantis thread.

I think whatever is easiest for the moderators. If the thread is clearly titled and guidelines are posted & redirected to Ridiculous Bragging or Ridiculous Complaint thread, some people are still going to impulsively jump in & effuse. The mods should decide the best way to handle it & put it in the guidelines. But don’t make extra work for yourselves.

Hey @zephyr1 has this been any help to you? Personally I’d just go with the flow. Summons results are minor inconvenience at best. You do outstanding work here for everyone and I don’t want you to burn out.

Yes, I’ve been watching what people have to say, as well as the voting on the poll in the top post.

I’m holding off for a bit on a final decision, but I think I’ll be able to try something based on all of the feedback here.

A summon result would be okay if it came with a thought about the HOTM, how’s it gonna be adapted to a defense or offense, etc. If it’s a comment like “LmAO I got X HOTM” then I don’t see the point. It’s just spam in my opinion.

You get interesting discussion from the beta testing and from a month or so after the general release when players have had time to use the hero. 5 minutes after pulling the hero no one has anything to add.

That is true. There’s more info about a HOTM in the beta thread than in the regular thread :joy:

You just need to be able to sort the obsolete (pre-changes) discussion from the valid (post-changes) discussion.

Although @nevarmaor, usually within an hour many players can have that new HotM maxed and emblemed as @NittanyLionRoar, along with several other players, has shown in a previous post. Normally they are the posts I’m looking for, even though I follow the beta thread pretty closely. I like to see how these heroes behave in the wild.

Although like @SirGorash stated, I’m not bothered by the “Hey I just pulled “insert HotM” if it includes the players thoughts on the hero. If they are there just to say “Sweet, I got xxxxx” then that can go right to the bragging thread IMO.

True, but then a lot of those players are in beta, and most know about and have discussed the hero already, and that is why they are maxing them in hours. What interests me more in the wild is how other players like me approach raiding against them in defense as that is likely as close as I will ever come to them, and that doesn’t appear for a month or so.

It’s easy to say "oppose new shiny with old shiny and you’re good’ but I have neither.

That’s a very valid point, although I was in your boat until my luck suddenly changed several months ago. Which is altogether strange because RNG usually dislikes me intensely? (Keep in mind RNG blessed me with 3 Frida’s, 2 Anzogh’s, 2 Margaret’s, 1 Ranvir, 2 Miki’s but completely skipped Seshat…conveniently. Just to be clear I by no means spend much on this game, the wife makes sure of that!!

The bottom line in the HotM posts is I simply browse the thread to see how that hero can be of use. How that hero is being used. Then I consider how badly I’ll be mauled when I come across that hero with a certain combo of other heroes (majority of which i do not have)

After considering all of the above comments, I believe I’m on the side of whatever is easier for the mods, but also don’t think that a post that simply says “Yo I pulled Kingston with my only EHT yo” really belongs in the thread. I’m pretty sure this could/would be community policed pretty stringently if that’s what’s decided.

We now have 100 posts in this thread and more who made a vote in the poll. I’m eagerly waiting to hear the final verdict.

Woah, you’re off topic. We need to summon another thread so that people can comment on the mechanics of this thread which is about whether people on threads can post about summons.

I feel like posts like this one are your pro bono annual renewal to remain Bard of the Forum forever…

At 1.3% it will take 100 pulls for a 77% chance at summoning the desired thread. The other 99 (or maybe all 100) will be complaints about game going P2W.
