Tornado does exactly what it says - it’s a battle item and when you use it, all your heroes fill 50% of their mana bar and the gem board gets reshuffled (exactly like it does if there’s no match 3 available).

The tornado is awesome. I used it to beat level 22 in the winter event. I highly recommend saving that for a hard quest with much needed ascension items.
