:1234: Trust Levels

There are 5 trust levels to the forum, each with different privileges & restrictions & powers.
0 - New
1 - Basic
2 - Member
3 - Regular
4 - Leader

Trust Level 0 - New

Default for all new members of the fourm
This trust level has the most restrictions & the least privilidges. The good news is that it is really easy to graduate from “New” to “Basic” (Trust Level 0 to Trust Level 1).

Click For New Member Restrictions

NOTE: This is a list of what Trust Level 0 (New) users CANNOT do:

  • Send personal messages to other users
  • “Reply as new topic” via Link button (UI removed)
  • Flag posts
  • Post more than 1 image
  • Post any attachments
  • Post more than 2 hyperlinks in a post
  • Have actual links in the ‘about me’ field of their profile (will be silently and temporarily converted to plain text)
  • Mention more than 2 users in a post
  • Post more than 3 topics
  • Post more than 10 replies
  • Edit their own posts after more than 24 hours

Click for what a Regular User can also do

In addition to all privileges granted to Trust Level 1 & 2, a Trust Level 3 User can:

  • Recategorize and rename topics
  • Have all their links followed (we remove automatic nofollow)
  • TL3 spam flags cast on TL0 user posts immediately hide the post
  • TL3 flags cast on TL0 user posts in sufficient diversity will auto-silence the user and hide all their posts
  • Make their own posts wiki (that is, editable by any TL1+ users)
  • Daily like limit increased by 2×

  • Not have been suspended or silenced

  • Forum Moderators (All 9 of us)
  • Forum “Staff”
Click to see what a Leader is able to do

In addition to all abilities granted to Trust Levels 1, 2 & 3, a “Trust Level 4 - Leader” can also:
Users at trust level 4 can…

  • Create and send Private Messages to other Forum Users
  • Add & remove users from Private Messages
  • Edit all posts
  • Pin/unpin topic
  • Close topics
  • Archive topics
  • Make topics unlisted
  • Split and merge topics
  • Reset topic bump date
  • Daily like limit increased by 3×
  • Any TL4 flag cast on any post immediately takes effect and hides the target post

How Do I Check My Status Against the Requirements?

Quite easy to do.

  1. Go to your Forum Profile

  2. Compare the displayed stats against the requirements listed above.

Forum Staff also answer requests to check Trust Level 3 progress vs. requirments for community members here: Regular Status: when will I become a Forum Regular?

A post was split to a new topic: لم يكتسب البطل

@Guvnor If it’s not much trouble for you to check, I think I’m only lacking on days visited to become regular, ain’t I? Thank you much in advance

Not an official answer, but here’s my review based on looking at the last quarter of data (Sep 14 - Dec 14) (I used the top right menu, click users, then searched for your name).

  • Have visited at least 50% of days - you’ve visited 75 of these days so good there
  • Have replied to at least 10 different non-PM topics - you have 39 total replies so unless you only post in one category you probably have this
  • Of topics created in the last 100 days, must have viewed 25% (capped at 500) - I can’t see the exact criteria, but you’ve viewed 338 topics.
  • Of posts created in the last 100 days, must have read 25% (capped at 20k) - same as above, but you’ve read 7.6K
  • Have received 20 likes, and given 30 likes.* - received 98 likes and given 55
  • Not have received more than 5 spam or offensive flags (with unique posts and unique users for each, confirmed by a moderator) - I can’t see this
  • Not have been suspended or silenced - I can’t see this

If I had to guess, maybe you aren’t chiming in enough on new topics?

@Ruskin505 Thank you so much, I’ll get on that  The system does it all by it self, right? Silly question, I know  Thanks for all the help you provide at all times! Always very detailed and informative responses from you, it shows real dedication to the forum, it does take time to compose and we really appreciate it.

Yeah one day I got the badge and then was able to change my tag line. It wasn’t anything I was particularly tracking.

Best of luck and thank you for the kind words. It keeps me going!
