And in the very short period of time, I stayed in the game I saw that at least one other alliance member has the issue.
I can’t play for longer than 30 seconds if I am able to log in at all.

Sorry, I feel like a dummy now. Restarting apparently does solve everything
I’ve also been experiencing this throughout the day. Game even crashed during a raid, and it would take a few tries before it would reconnect. But chat wouldn’t load. Now I am no longer getting past the “Connecting” screen at all.
Restarting my iOS worked for me.
Restarting didn’t work for me. But clearing cache multiple times seems to have finally helped
