Forum thread display weirdness

So not a game issue, but forum related.

Not sure if this is happening to other people, but is recurring for me recently.

Old threads are beginning to appear at/near the top of sections displaying recent post.

However when go into thread:

I know sometimes it can be caused by whoever posted last going in and editing their reply. Not sure what is causing examples like this one though.

Is it possible that somebody wrote a post and then immediately deleted it?

That could be it. Just not sure how this works…
