I recently purchased the dark background and noticed these annoying squares on the right of the background after I set it. I initially assumed it was just that particular background because I hadn’t noticed it until then, but now that I know where to look, I notice it no matter what background I use, and I also notice some other players also have the same thing on their backgrounds. Then I wondered if it might just be my particular phone/OS, so I had someone in my alliance with a different phone/OS look through the global leaderboard and let me know if she saw it on her device also. She did. It’s not the biggest issue, but it is irritating, so yeah, fix it. 
- an immediate way to reduce the annoyance till the bug is fixed. It is hard to unsee it once you know it is there
