Fighter talent grid confounding me

My diamond level raid team is held back due to a lack of a 5* healer. To upgrade the healer position (I always have one raiding), I decided to emblem up a 4*.

Boldtusk was chosen over Kiril since my wizard emblems have been allocated.

Before I emblemed him up, I looked at the grid to see which branches would be used. Whoa…there is a trap there.

There is a point well down the grid where you have to chose between a hp node that does a 3% increase or one that gives him 32 health points. A difference of one point for a cost of around 20 emblems. YIKES.

Is this a trick, or is it just an error on devs part?
