Y’know… there is a lot of space between ‘give everyone everything’ and ‘give nobody nothing’.
(deliberate hyperbole… don’t want the literal readers to get the wrong end of the stick)
I think it’s perfectly possible to make the game more generous without being in eminent danger of in-game economic over-inflation.
Reward should match effort… and if something’s hard, the reward should be worth it. It doesn’t have to be ‘a lot’… it really just needs to be ‘worth it’. I have played many a game with a far more generous economic model and did not observe the ‘give everyone everything’ Armageddon that is feared. The answer of such games to keeping the rare and powerful rewards flowing is to offer a variety of content in which those rewards would be properly/fully utilised… and/or offer the ability to replay, taking those rewards with you on your next journey through. A game that did this excellently is Diablo II, but many other of similar approach.
I don’t feel the answer is just keeping the economy super-mean to try eek out the content longer.
And I never inferred ‘just give everybody a trophy and loot’.
Getting tired of typing cogent posts to receive glib 1 liner responses. So you win. I am defeated by your deep and detailed dissection of my posts to bring out their fundamental flaws. Well argued.
I do agree the rewards are shocking most of the time. Infact for me the intermediate seemed better than advanced. They do need to review the challenges and make the reward worth the effort and items used.
Seems to be a theme with the game,
also agree that just keeping the economy super-mean to try eek out the content longer. Wont work after a while, so many threads saying the same thing. Maybe one day the devs will listen.
Had typed up a long list of reasons you do not qualify for “pointing out logical fallacies”. Then on second thoughts I thought I’d overwrite it with this because I couldn’t be bothered keeping this pointless distraction from the thread going.
From my point of view you can’t follow a line of logic… and don’t bother to actually address the real point of the posts. From your point of view, I make logical fallacies.
I guess we’ll let the other readers decide for themselves.
