End of a season can be a letdown: doesn’t have to be. 5*-only summon coins

We really are approaching the end of S5 now: most likely the final areas of S5 will open next month.

If this idea — of making even a single guaranteed 5* hero from this season part of the overall completion reward — is to come to pass, presumably it would have to be implemented within the next few weeks.

It really is a minor, and hardly unbalancing, addition, but one that I think would tangibly help make the end of slogging through every single stage in a season feel more worth it.

Please: I hope that this idea is worth making players happier to finish.

This would be great for all seasons. Too bad I finished all the others.

Oh I agree, it would be even nicer if it were for all seasons retroactively, but to at least have it for S5 and future seasons would be an improvement.

It is way, way too easy for F2P and even VC2P to finish an entire season with zero 5* from a season. Even if you manage to get one, a second one would be a Really Big Deal.

And it really, really wouldn’t disadvantage bigger spenders, who probably wouldn’t mind one more S5 5* themselves, but also because they’ve been crushing it sometimes with entire teams of S5 5* for months now (both in competitive events, and in making S5 itself easier to complete).

Having to, after the end of Season 5, compete against plebs slowly attaining a single S5 5* each isn’t exactly harsh.

Absolutely love this idea. Going to piggy back on it.

There should be two new tokens added for every season and are awarded upon season completion.

TOKEN 1 “Season X Epic Token”

  • Awarded for completing season on normal mode
  • 90% chance for a 4* hero from that season
  • 10% chance for a 5* hero from that season
  • Artwork: Use the same symbol/logo from the season coins but in silver color and add small diamonds around the edge

TOKEN 2 “Season X Legendary Token”

  • Awarded for completing season on hard mode
  • Guaranteed 5* hero from that season
  • Artwork: Use the same symbol/logo from the season coins but in Gold Color and small diamonds around the edge.

If one is committing all that time to finish a season earning a token for each mode is well deserved.

I honestly think it would help rentention especially with newer players and ftp. Once they get a 5* hero or two they will want to level them up and get all the ascension items. As we all know that takes tremendous amount of time and resources.

SG should get better retention which equals more revenue. (I would presume SG has tools to see the likely hood of a player extending game time the more 5* heroes a player has on their roster)

The playerbase gets 5* heroes which equals happier players who are more engaged.

Win win!

I like it! My proposal was the minimal-add version, but I don’t see any reason why on “lesser” guaranteed-summon and one “greater” one should be a problem either for game balance or for implementation.

(Sure, a lot of folks will have many or even all of a season’s 4* heroes by the end, but even a 10% chance of a S5 5* is a big jump up from a normal pull at the portal, roughly equivalent to 6 or 7 normal pulls purely in terms of chance of a S5 5*.)

I also think it’s a win all-around - and feels like more of a “yeah completing this is actually worth it” incentive.

Because beyond the whole question of F2P/VC2P players getting any 5* at all from a given season, there’s the more immediate sensation of “Woo! I completed the season and let me go use my coins and…. Bane, Dawa, Friar Tuck. Again.

It can really dash any feeling of accomplishment. Even a guaranteed-super-summon may certainly not be Everything You Want, of course, but at least it’s more likely to help make The End feel like a triumph worth having.

S1 guarantee legendary coin addition to other rewards seems like a great idea. Helps for soul exchange

Well what I am proposing would be a S5 5*-guaranteed coin, very similar to the S1 5*-guaranteed coin sold for SE, and presumably very easy to code since the latter already exists.

And at worst, yeah, someone who already has three, e.g., Bastets and gets a fourth presumably has extra fodder for SE.

And anyone who doesn’t have a Bastet (or any other S5 5*) gets at least one premium hero for the trouble of 100% completion on Season 5!

(And, hopefully, similarly for future seasons as well!)

Uh, thats quite a strech in a wish to what they are currently offering
That means, they would give out basically a million S5 5* if everyone completes
Not good from portal selling point

I could see though an item, which boosts Portal chances for 3% until you get a 5* legendary though

Counterpoints:

  • every person who fully completes the season, takes the coins from the season-end reward, and gets… nothing more than nth Rekhetre and Junaid duplicates, is likely to feel a major letdown (if even my own personal experiences from the first four seasons is any guide)

  • this feeling is just all that much stronger for a player who never has pulled even a single 5* hero from that season all season long (and isn’t all that much better for a player who has only ever pulled even one such hero), e.g. along the lines of “this portal just feels cursed”

  • the S5 portal is likely going to become a less attractive portal very soon after the end of S5 anyway, if nothing else due to the doubtless exponential power rush of the shiny new heroes to come from S6 (and this will likely remain true until the inevitable trickle of S5 costumes begins)

  • in order to give anything like a million 5* from this proposal, it would require every one of those players actually invest the time, energy, game resources in finishing the season. Not all players may do that at all, or be in any hurry to do so, if they find the end of season rewards… less than proportionally rewarding. Getting a free S5 5* before the onslaught of S6 behemoths might light a fire to get folks spending more time and resources in the game.

  • if “giving away” millions of 5* heroes were a big problem for SG, we wouldn’t have SE or Pity Counter. Sure, they yield up heroes based on prior summons, but they also give more heroes (potentially one per player every few months, and up to 20 per player every six months, respectively); my proposal would, in its barest form, yield one 5* ever per player, and without the added luxury of choosing (though I would quite like to choose any one S5 5*, and would appreciate that, that’s not even what I’m asking for here!)

Even something as giving away a free 5☆ hero of our own choice once a year, would still bring so much joy to so many, and it sure wouldn´t be game breaking either.

I think it´s a great idea. :100: And, I think, by now, many of us are aware of just how much money SG are making, from a single whale, in a single portal. It´s so beyond greed at this point, and really rather sad to witness, how much money are spend to feed pixels. (Granted, a large portion of players that spend a lot are addicted, in one way or another, but that does not help; quite the contrary.)

It´s a single 5☆ event hero per season. It wouldn´t break anything for the developers.
It would bring joy to players. Help them have some fun.

Fun.

Games.

Fun.

Considering how even the best heros will be outdated within a few months of their debut i dont see any issue in giving 1 away per season.

Any QoL that players like is great for customer morale.

Happy customers spend more so it would be win-win situation.

here, here. it’s ridiculous that someone can finish a season and not get a seasonal 5*, and also ridiculous to think that everyone having one seasonal 5* will break the game.

come on SG, spread the love around!!! at least make the grind a bit more rewarding!!!

and I will just add: they get tons of revenue from people chasing heroes anyway??? as if one 5* per player will break their revenue, especially when it’s from a map season! it’s not like it’s a free 5* from Tower of Magic or Mighty Pets!

Too right! Plus: what does operant conditioning say about having a “win” once in a while (cough casinos cough); namely, eventually, any player will walk away from a game or for a portal they never win at.

A player who manages to completely an entire season without ever getting a 5* hero from that season may be forgiven for thinking, “you know what, the heck with paying to summon from THAT portal, it’s given me a whole lotta nuthin’ “, especially when further OP heroes are available at newer portals anyway.

From SG’s perspective, finally giving a player a late free taste of a S5 5* just might make that person more likely to at least consider paying to summon from that portal ever again!

@BobTheSnark

I’ve just thought the same thing and a I wrote a topic about this.

I’m sorry for opening a new topic because I haven’t researched enough to find out that you already came up with this idea

And I think it would be fair for every player that complete the season to get at least a 5*

The more people we have seeing the idea, talking about it, agreeing, the better our (admittedly miniscule) chances.

I don’t know how this would work now with S5 being already over for some folks, but if it could be implemented even at the end of each season’s “expansion pack” of areas…?

Besides, if we let a little thing like “our chance of success is very small and we’ll have to keep trying for months for anything to maybe happen” stop us. we wouldn’t still be playing this game would we?

SG finally launched the final stages for Season 5 and some players are finishing it

My idea is that any player that finishes a Season in the hard mode should be given a
Season token that gives a free random 5* from that Season

For an example: a S3 token could be used to get a random hero . Depending on your luck it can be Alfrike or Salmon Loki

I think that would make the most of players happy because they could get a 5* and wouldn’t hurt the business and profits for SG because it would be just a random 5* hero

C est une Excellente idee
