So I now have 15 pairs of rings and only Elena or Khagan on which to spend them. Both of these heroes are getting buffed in V20, so I’m going to go ahead and max one of them since I have an abundance of fire mats.
I won’t be using either in my defense team, but they would offer help against Titans and in raids.
In a vacuum, and without knowing my exact roster, who would you say is more worthy of Ascension?
Elena way scarrier than khagan
I actually like them both (but there are reds I like more) I think I would go with Elena, but it really does depend on what else you have. Kargan is a great “suporting character” for other awesome heroes (but he is still that at 3/70). For titans I would use Elena
I have both, I use Elena a bit more as I like the counter-attackers, she also hits all enemies tho not the hardest hitter. She is pretty low on defense so if you give her some emblems I would definitely go the increased defense route. Mana regen is slow, so give her mana troops,
Khagan is good for his splash damage, also boosts mana gen and defense for nearby allies. He is slow so I make sure he gets the mana troops to help a little.
I have used both as tanks, but they really do better on flank…just not on wings so you get full benefit of their special for themselves and those next to them.
Edit to add: Khagan was my first red 5* and I have him maxed as I didn’t get another one for a long time…I still tend to use Elena more even at 3/70.
Elenas counterstrike is awesome against AoE and often deadly.
Kagan is more or less useless and a bad allrounder. He can be put as an okay tank and ??? Imho nothing else. On other positions he almost waits for his death being a target only. Slow supporters also stack badly.
Elena’s s more like an every day companion and she can be used in every situation. She’s tanky, she stacks back badly, she protects and she attacks. I’d say go for her.
The only Khagan’s saving grace are his moustaches, Elena is a stronger heroine than him.
Elena is great against green titans. That huge attack stat, the riposte to add damage. You can keep her alive with health potions, or not worry about keeping her alive and use her high +Atk in death.
Saved me the post, but I use her in titan and raid offense a lot for the tile damage.
With the v20 changes I’m honestly a huge fan of Khagan, at least compared to other slow heroes. Elena has the highest attack stat of any classic hero but pays for it with low survivability, which can be brutal for a slow hero. Khagan is much tankier and deals considerable damage with the update. His defense and mana gain buff is nothing to scoff at either. At this moment I’d trade my maxed Guardian Kong for Khagan if I could.
I’d say Elena. Her attack stat is far higher than ither Reds, making her a great hero on Titans. Khagan is good but just doesn’t deal enough damage to be really useful
Elena, purely for titans. She has great damage output thanks to her high attack stat.
Definitely Elena, as her attack rate is way more and her special is slow but effective. With the right troop, who speed up your mana.

After buff I like him more than my Marjana.
IMO Khagan+Falcon will be like Panther+something between Thot and Sargasso
