🧪 Early Information on Zynga Store [Part of The Beta Beat v47]

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the initial release of Zynga Store

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Beta announcement of it by Petri:

(I have removed the store links from the post, as those should only work by Beta testers, and even not all of us can reach the Zynga Store)

Available offers (according to Beta testers who can access it)

Price Gems
4.99 USD 450 gems
9.99 USD 950 gems
19.99 USD 2000 gems
29.99 USD 3100 gems
49.99 USD 5300 gems
99.99 USD 11000 gems

I do not have the exact USD prices in the game as they are not found in @Kilted 's data collection topic, but based on some assumptions made there here is how much it gives more than the live game:

Assumptions based on these posts:

Now they are confirmed by @BlueHair here

I’m with you since they first mentioned it in beta. I’m curious how people will react.

My first feeling was absolute ■■■■ storm, but than I wasn’t able to enter the store and didn’t see the actual offers.

After seeing those I’m not so sure anymore, the offers are bad anyway, but still…

Also waiting for the first person to have given the link to someone outside beta and claims that they managed to purchase through it. This one has all the makings of a dumpster fire of epic proportions…

What’s the point of making this separate “store” instead of implementing it in the live game? The limited access?

But they could change the price for a “limited time” to the in-game gem store, couldn’t they?

It sounds like this is a store that will bypass Apple/Google’s payment infrastructure? Rather than those transactions coming with say a 30% fee, SG can now offer us stuff at say a discount and keep the extra revenue. It’s a win-win if this is how it works.

Interesting beta addition. I don’t know why anyone in Beta would test this unless they want to throw money SG’s way.
Edit: missed that this is for the live game. Now I see why folks bring up potential complaints. I’ve also seen many posts over the years about better rewarding beta players, so hey here it is! I have no problem with this. If a small subset of folks get a 10% discount (or whatever it is) for a limited time, it won’t change much.

Probably to avoid the fees from Apple and Google.

I am not sure
@Kilted started to collect it, but there are no USD prices there as I see:

@ferg and @Jomps Thanks! Sounds fair enough. I don’t see why people should be upset then… Zynga and players win, Google and Apple lose :man_shrugging:

Went in and said “meh”. Yes if I was planning on spending loads of Zenny to capture monsters, then the little bump up from this “store” might be worth it. As it is I have been trying to limit spending so it means little to me.

so, roughtly, same price and 10% more gems

We will have to look for a manual of those secrets that are hidden in the pyramids in the form of papyrus rolled up in a tube that is activated by an indecipherable secret super combination so that Zynga learns the definition of the word OFFER OH!!! ! MY GOD… OFFER
Yes, gentlemen from Zynga, the word Offer means that an item or product is marketed at a price lower than its normal price, but of course, by offer, the variation in price is succulent and makes sense… for ridiculous offers, leave the price as it is.
Now without ironies or hints.
For 1 cent don’t touch my tail

Its an extra 10 gems per dollar from the regular store prices. Its good I guess if you buy from the store, buy not nearly as good as special offers.

If these are true, then the current offers in the live game in USD and compared to the new ones in store:

I never buy gems from store, so lt doesn’t really affect me much, but any discount is welcome. I hope they’ll give us something similar with special offers.

Good for the “little guy” (Zynga, lol) fighting back against the “big guys” (Apple and Google). Ugh. Late stage capitalism strikes again!

I actually do like this. Just wish I was rooting for an ACTUAL little guy. But at the end of the day, I’d rather the developer get my money than the distributors, so I’ll probably use it once it’s available in the live game to all players (since I’m not a beta tester).
