🧪 Early information on the new PvP event - Hero League [Part of The Beta Beat V60]

Came back to this thread to see if there were any updates or improvements regarding the stonking amounts of Raid Energy this will consume but alas, Finland is on summer holiday.

Love the idea of a PvP arena. This is absolutely too much raid energy. 20 raids per day using a special energy for the event like Raid Tournaments makes sense in that you can choose to use it or not. Using regular raid energy is not proper and a terrible idea.

Zynga wants interested players to buy more raid flasks.

My thoughts exactly, but they will probably gift them to the whales.

Beta Update:

It seems the daily attack limit is reduced from 20 to 10.

I will check if there are any more changes in Beta, and update the OP.

Reasonable step in the right direction methinks. Thanks for the update @PlayForFun! :blue_heart:

Thank you as always for passing on the info.

Not sure yet if 10 is right, but it’s a step in the right direction. 20 was definitely too many.

The rewards are not changed. I have updated the event rules.
Right now just that and the rewards are what we see in Beta for Hero League.

Based on that thr Registration Phase will be 7 days long.

No other new extra information can be seen based on it.

Hathor, El Naddaha and Krampus will shine in this edition. I’m excited to try

Can we use the same heroes multiple times or is it like W3K?

It is like normal raiding. You can carry out all of your 10 * 6 *4 = 240 attack with the same heroes.

Once this goes into live game, then the Featured families can be different, and who know whether Staff has adjusted the percentages or not, but anyway it will be a big improvement for the features heroes especially if they are from the featured class.

I assume the 25% is calculated on the current active players instead of initial ones, that way you won’t have a risk of having too few players at the last round.

Lowering raids from 20 to 10 is a step on the right direction, but it still needs to be on a different energy rather than the normal raid energy. Some challenges are very specific on their requirements like using rare heroes or specific classes.

This event is quite similar to something i have proposed almost a year ago.
My idea was to make it even more like a cup. With people being paired daily. Setting up 6 defenses. Kinda like a war of 1 vs 1. The winner going to the next round. Basically you start with 1 mil players and theh get halved every day. In 25 days you would have a final.

They chose to do it a bit more diluted, but its quite similar in the idea of kicking out the bottom 25%.

I dislike that 40% thing though. Its a source of unnecessary imbalance in the battles that cater to the very rooster-deep players. Those players dont need a helping hand lol.

An easy solution for the energy problem wouldbe to have some of the first fights cost 0 energy and then increase to 1. For example, the first 5 fights could be free, and the following 5 fights cost 1 energy each. This would incentivise partitipaction, since you lose nothing by trying some fights.

40% bonus for heroes that more than likely got huge bonuses during the “big (un)balanced update”. So let’s just call it what it is. p2w and cannon fodder. Hate to be the cynic in this, but e$p has a track record…

Beta Update !

Other than this now the featured family have only 30% bonus instead of 40%.

Also now a Speed Bonus also added for the attacks.
If you finish within 10 moves, then you get 300 extra points as rewards.

Earlier you could use your standard team setup for the Hero League, but now there is a dedicated team similarly to raid tournaments.

Other than this there are some UI improvements.
Eg:

  • Now you can always see your remaing attack count on the main Hero League screen.
  • Now in base view there is an icon if you have unused attacks in Hero League.

This sounds really fun to me, but I would really recommend SGG to lower the number of attacks per day from 10 to 5 (which would also probably remove the energy concerns some have). Then it would require a similar time effort as for raid tournaments. We have many alliiance members complaining over that the game takes way too much time now if you want to keep up with it, and several have already left the game entirely for this exact reason. So please keep this new event reasonably time-consuming!

Another personal opinion: I would also much prefer 5 battle days (Mon - Fri), and 2 cooldown days (Sat - Sun), as I’d rather do so many other things than playing a mobile game on weekends.

Might be fun except for the +30% family stats bonus. Make it 10% and it’s fine. 30% will take the HP of some heroes up to 3k-ish levels at the start of a battle, making a simple 40% heal restore up to 1200 hp… that’s a lot. Not to even mention the effect some LB2 bonuses will add for the first 6 turns. As always p2w players able to put up teams acording to the family boost will get an un-needed and un-asked for advantage, while those unable to comply, which already have a smaller hero pool to chose from, will start with a 30% handicap… pure E&P style. In a Tyson vs average no name guy fight, Tyson gets boosted for 30%…

Will there be flags specific to this event like tourneys or will normal raid flags be used?
