This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the Special Guest Quest.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

The Special Guest Quest

  • The quest directly openable from the Stronghold screen.
  • This is 10 level Quest.
  • Each level can be played once.
  • There is no special rule for the quest.
  • All enemies are Special Guest heroes.
  • You are getting Hero #1, #2, #3, #4 and #8 at the start of the event at fully ascended state.
  • You are getting the other 5 guest heroes as a reward during the event at fully ascended state.
  • Battle items can not be used in the event.
  • Troop selection is not available for your attack team.

Test Booster

There will be a similar booster like what we have for seasonal events and Season 1-5 and Untold Tales.

You are getting 300 gems and 1 Epic hero token if you buy the offer.

Battle Bonus

Stage Gift

Test Event Energy (TEE)

The event uses this special energy.
You have 20 as maximum.
The energy refills over time: 1 energy every 10 minute
You can refill the energy with 50 Gems.

Special Guest Quest Stages

The Stage Gift for all stages is 1x Mana Poition.

A quest where everyone has access to the same heroes? Is this a first step towards a scored event that showcases ‘skill’ instead of what heroes you have in your roster?

With the same completion rewards ? Doubt it.

This sounds interesting  wonder what kind of challenge event we can make out of this???

It would only be true skill if EVERYONE had the same boards, too.

Never, SG cannot sell skill.

More likely they do this to make people play fancy heroes and then summon them, because they donÂŽt want to play without them anymore after. ItÂŽs like what Drug dealers do, free trials to get you hooked. But not a free race car to go racing with.

I’ve always wondered why they didn’t do that with all the seasons. Either let or force us to use “storyline” characters on certain stages. Would be interesting and let us use some heroes that we might not get the chance to otherwise

It’s a now common feature to let players “try out” newly released heroes in live game.

Without this feature, players have to join beta to “try out” new heroes and test possible team combos.

I am more interested in the completion loot.

In the other games, I usually earn enough for at least 1 summon.

I could see that, too an ingame beta testing thing? Maybe they aren®t happy with how things go on the beta server and they are testing new ways to go aboout testing

If take up of new releases is poor (less engagement via in app quest; or less than expected revenue), Zynga can then buff those new heroes as required.

It’s like a global beta via in app quest.

I only want the free summon.
