Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this β€” it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.


Big Balance Update changes

Some changes are added / updated / reverted since the previous Beta beat topics:

Max Health reduction update

Previous behavior:

  • When a Hero reduces an enemy’s max health, it now also removes all boosted health from that enemy

New behavior:

The boosted health should not be entirely removed when reducing max health, but the effect of the reduction should be more severe when the target has boosted health:

  • Reduces max health of the target by X. Any boosted health is removed by additional X.

Family bonus changes

Lagoon Family:

  • Old: +3/6/10/15% attack for 2/3/4/5 members
  • New: +3/6/10/15/20% attack for 1/2/3/4/5

Sakura Family:

  • Old: +2/4/7/12% mana generation for 2/3/4/5 members
  • New: +3/6/9/11/13% mana generation for 1/2/3/4/5 members

Sand Empire Family:

  • Old: +10/20% defense for 2/3 members
  • New: +5/10/20% defense for 1/2/3 heroes

Max Health reduction update

  • When a Hero reduces an enemy’s max health, it now also removes all boosted health from that enemy This is changed in Beta 3

Tome of Experience update

  • Tomes of Experience no longer remove Ascension Material requirements when leveling up Limit Broken Heroes
    • Using a Tome of Experience will instead give you a certain amount of Trainer Heroes
    • Food, Iron and Experience costs will still be fully covered

What’s the point of the 1% minion increase

Nemo got half a buff. Switched the passive into a useful one. Ideally he should be doing 400%/800%. HOT is head scratching bizarre. It’s not even a good healing value
Telly finally got back some usefulness. I never thought they would reconsider this guy again

Just normalize costume bonus for all HOTMs… idk why they just boosted it for 2017 and 2018 HOTMs…

Happy with cleanse and aiment reflect coming back - shame about shared damage and defence up both going as well but with attack up and heal it shifts his focus to be even more offensive support.

I think I’d accept that.

Yes, this is ideally a better change for furdy without completely destroying him. Just drop his priority cleanse to a normal cleanse and that alone balances him way better than half the nonsense they came up before

It’s funny. They either do barely anything (see minion changes in this round) or completely gut the point of a character (see Telly, Furdy) - there’s never a mid-point or a simple flipping of the order of skills or slowing of mana speed, which in the majority of cases, would solve the problem.

Furdinand? This feels like a compromise that should appease people! To be fair… how does his tiny tiny shield give such a massive defence buff anyway :wink:

The HotM changes to the minion health is very strange… but hey, Viscaro getting that buff is good!

The update to the family bonuses all make sense, and are now in line with the Atlantean family.

As for Nemo, it makes sense… and I guess the HoT is to help compensate for when he has an ailment that does DoT…. i get it…. Kind of, but hey, a buff is a buff!

Hawthorn average speed. give a small mana. hero in the portal with 400 gems/pulls??

while C Ariel with average speed, provides additional moderate mana. immediate boost health. old S2 heroes.

I have mixed feelings on Rhys, love the cleanse being back, but at the same time Rhys was my yellow attack up for titans. Just have to wait for round 4 I guess lol
