🧪 Early Information on New "Slayers of Fell Shadows" Challenge Event [Part of The Beta Beat V40]

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the new “Slayers of Fell Shadows” Challenge Event

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

:superhero: Slayers of Fell Shadows in Challenge Event

As with the Villains & Starfall heroes, the Slayer heroes have a bonus when they are used in the Slayers of Fell Shadows challenge event.


  • Heroes of the Slayers family bypass the Elemental Barriers, and have increased attack, defense, and health (+20%) in this Challenge Event’s stages

Some Notes:

  • This bonus ONLY applies to Slayers Family Heroes IN the Slayers Event.
  • It is NOT limited to Unique heroes only… Any and all Slayer heroes gain the bonus stat boost.

:dizzy: Special Gameplay

A new Event effect added to Slayers if Fell Shadows is this:

Old description

  • Each time you use an item or a Special Skill, the Rage of Enemies grows, increasing their damage!
  • When the Rage is at its peak all enemies recover health and all their status ailments are cleansed at the beginning of their turn.
  • The Rage dwindles when you don’t use items or Special Skills during your turn, The backwards arrow indicates that the Rage is about dwindle.

New description

  • In the Slayers of Fell Shadows event your actions can enrage the enemies! The Rage of the enemies grows every time you use a Special skill or a Battle Item,
  • Enemies deal increased damage based on the amount of the Rage they have: The more Rage they have, the more damage they deal!
  • While enemies have Max Rage
    • all enemies receive 50% less damage
    • your Battle Items deal 50% less damage
    • all status ailments of the enemies are cleansed at the beginning of their turn
  • The Rage will be reduced if you don’t us any Special Skills or Battle Items during your turn.

This is not mentioned in the description, but here are my notes about these:

  • The damage is increasing with 15% each time when you use a Battle item or Special skill.
  • The “peak (maximum) of the Rage” is 75% and about 10% health is recovered for the enemies at this point at the end of the enemies turn .

As with all other challenge events, the Slayers of Fell Shadows comes with it’s own Summon Portal. See below for information regarding the appearance rates.

This is the same portal set-up we saw for Starfall Circus. There are STILL NO CHANGE to the event hero odds from any of the otehr Challenge Event Heroes.

The 11% odds needed for the Trainer Heroes has come from Rare Classic & Epic Classic Heroes

:moneybag: Challenge Coins

The “Slayers iof Fell Shadows” makes use of the existing Challenge Event Coins currancy for summoning. It also features the Suspicious Chest’s as a rare & random monster which drops 1x Challenge Coin as bonus loot.


The premise of Suspicious Chests appears to be similar to the concept of Orichalcum Seadragons appearing at random during Atlantis Rises and dropping Atlantis Coins, which can then be used for Summons. One difference is that in initial testing, it appears that Suspicious Chests only drop a single Challenge Coin — but you only need 10 of them for a Summon, not 100.

The Slayers of Fell Shadows follows the the usual set-up for Challenge Events with 3 difficulty tiers (Rare, Epic & Legendary); It is however, Like LoV and Starfall Circus, using the old format of only 10 Stages for each tier.

So devs want to stop the big players for using items? But smaller player Will have it hard also like this.

Currently that has only this event, but maybe later new HoTMs, new S4 heroes, costumes, Tower of Magic event, etc… comes in it…

Beta Update:

Slayers of Fell Shadows Quest

  • When Rage is full, enemies now get +50% reduction for received damage instead of recovering HP
  • Battle items also deal 50% less damage damage when Rage is full
  • Enemy stats adjusted

Gosh SG just announced that this new event will be debuting in August…

Yes, they did it.
But this wasn’t a secret that this event will arrive in August.
Earlier they announced it for Beta testers, which I have written to the main version 40 Beta topic.

You wont stop using items, you just need to time them differently, like killing blow or where tradeoff is bigger than their gain


Yes, a bit different strategy needed.
Currently as I see it on YouTube videos the top players use this method:

  • The first wave is used for charging heroes and making good combos.
  • The second wave is killed by items
  • The boss wave is killed with everything what remains + special skills, diamonds

Now it need to be changed as following this method the boss wave might not be killed due to lowered damage. (Especially at last 2-3 levels)

So I think this method will be changed like this:

  • Kill the first wave with items if the board looks good.
  • Charge heroes, make good combos in the second wave.
  • Kill the bosses with everything you have + specials.

One minor thought:
In all other challenge events if you fire a hero which casts defense down on the opponents and later you fire a hitter hero, the you deal more damage.

This is not true sometimes during this event. If the Rage reaches the peak with of firing the defense down hero, they you might deal less damage due to damage decrease.
So you need to think a bit before you fire the special skills.
What’s more if the Rage is at the peak, then all status ailments last for 1 turn. So it might be good if you do not fire some debuffer hero.

Every using of weapons and or activation of special skills, how much % increasing in rage ? How about decreasing ?

The damage (= Rage meter) is decreasing with also 15% if you do not use any battle items or special skills in a turn.
