🧪 Early Information on Mythic Titans [Part of The Beta Beat V33 & V34]

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the new Mythic Titans Content!

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

:warning: SPECIAL WARNING:

Note that this is the FIRST pass of testing in Beta so it is HIGHLY likely that the mythic titans will undergo several iterations and may not be in Live Game until early 2021.

Also bear with me that this post may be an evolution over time as stuff gets added in & becomes more clear.

:loudspeaker: Previous Announcements

:framed_picture: Artwork

We have been given sneak peeks at the artwork of some of the Mythic Titans in previous announcements:

What Are Mythic Titans??

In a nutshell? Mythic Titans are essentially a Global Titan without a health limit.

Each player gets a set number of attacks they can make during the Mythic Titan’s appearance. I am not 100% sure on what the duration of the Mythic Titan Event will be in Live Game, nor the number of flags that each player will get…

There are a total of THREE leaderboards for a single Mythic Titan:

  • Highest SINGLE hit by an individual
  • Hightest TOTAL damage by an individual
  • Highest TOTAL damage for an Alliance.

Each leaderboad has it’s own loot.

:crossed_swords: Fighting a Mythic Titan

Mythic Titan fights proceed much like any other titan fight but with a couple of notable exceptions:

  1. There are 3 three difficulties to choose from at the outset. Depending on which difficulty you choose, you get a trade off of increased attack vs. reduced damage taken. I will explain this more further down.

  2. Fight Duration is Longer.
2.5 minute fights against Mythic Titans vs. 1.5 minutes against normal titans.

  3. There is no “health bar” on a Mythich Titan. Like I said, it’s an unending pool of HP. Instead there is a damage counter in the upper right side of Middle of the screen, above the, Mythic Titan which increases during your fight.

  4. There is no “Ghost” lanes on the Mythic Titan. Instaed of a 7x5 board you have a 9x5 board with two additional columns added in.

  5. Status Ailments & Effects are shown BELOW the Mythic Titan, below the “Mana Bar” which is still in the normal spot. at the TOP of the Mythic Titan. Normally these are on the LHS of the Titan’s health bar but as there is no health bar, these are now at the TOP of the screen. You can still long press & hold on the Mythic Titan to see the effects & their remaining time.

  6. Mythic Aura. I will explain this more further down but effectively it is a modifier on your hero stats which gives a +20% boost for their first fight (only first) & then “weakens” or “fatigues” specific heroes after their 3rd fight.

  7. Watchers.
These are kinda like “minions” that spawn every third turn. They essentially “Block” one of the columns & absorb the damage before it gets to the Mythic Titan. Hence like minions  They don’t seem to have an attack, they kinda just sit there.

I’m sure that I’ll think of more as we go & as discussion evolves but for now that’s a good start…

Aspects that are the SAME for Mythic Titans as for Normal Titans:

  1. “Slash” attack every turn.

  2. Special Skill charges with tiles that hit. Note that like in normal titans, “stun spot” tiles do NOT increase the Mythic Titan’s Mana.

  3. Stun Spot; Hitting the stun spot with 3 tiles will stun the Mythic Titan, preventing it from doing a slash attack

  4. Same Battle Item Allocation.

  5. Timer. Fights are still timed & will end when either the timer runs out or all your heroes are dead.

:cloud_with_lightning: Energy & Access!

The mythic titan is accessed via the Quests View & pops up on the side just like the Ninja Tower does.

It has it’s own energy system which, like Ninja Tower & Raid Tournaments, refreshes once per day.

In Beta we have 20x Energy Per Day but this is in no way indicative of what will/ not be in the live game… Most Likely this is just so we can effectively test (we also get 20 war energy per war for beta testing new war rules).

:smile_cat: :smirk_cat: :scream_cat: Difficulties

So as I mentioned above, there are three difficulties to choose from when you go to hit the Mythic Titan. Each has a different “bonus” that is granted to the player:

Difficulty Hero Bonus Mythic Titan Ailment
Cautious Battle Normal Attack -80% -70% Attack
Brave Battle +25% +50% Attack -40% Attack
Extreme Battle +50%% +100% Attack Normal Attack

So essentially this has two big benefits:

  1. You get a reward for taking the “hardest” difficulty in that you get a MASSIVE attack boost to all your heroes

  2. It allows the content to be played by all players… Newer players choose the “Cautious Battle” so their heroes can survive etc…

Under Cautious Battle the Mythic Titan hits about the equivalent of a 5* Titan; ~100 damage to maxed 4* Hero.

Brave Battle is about the same as a 7-8* Titan; hitting for ~350-400 damage on a maxed 4* hero.

And Finally, Extreme Battle is about the same as a 10* Titan; hitting a maxed 4* hero for ~800 damage.

:innocent: :smiling_imp: Mythic Aura

The Mythic Aura has two effects, one on “first use heroes” and another for “multi use heroes”

The FIRST time a hero is used, they get a positive Mythic Aura which grants them +20% boost to Attack & Mana Generation.

The Second & Third time a hero is used, there is no Mythic Aura. They’re just your normal every day hereos (plus whatever bonus you get from the difficulty you chose)

From the Fourth Fight onwards using a specific hero however, the specific hero starts getting fatigued… They start getting negative effects.

So in a Table Format it looks something like this:

# of Fights Attack Bonus Mana Bonus
1 +20% +20%
2 - -
3 - -
4 -10% -10%
5 -19% -19%
6 -27% -27%
7 -34% -34%
8 -41% -41%
9 -47% -47%
10 -52% -52%
11 -57% -57%
Goes further but I stopped at 11 fights lol…

Note: Fleeing DOES count as a use of the hero… so you cannot start a fight, look at the board & exit.

:eye: Watcher

Tool Tip:

The Mytic Titan summons 2 Mythic Watchers ever 2 turns. 3 Watchers are present when the battle starts.
The Watchers absorb a fraction of any damage that would be dealt to the titan.
If the weak spot is on a watcher, the Titan cannot be stunned.
Destroying a watcher reduces the mana of the Titan!

So, as above, the watcher is basically a minion which sits above one of the 9 columns & blocks your tiles from hitting the Mythic Titan. Watchers have NO ATTACK. They just sit there as meat shields.

They behave much like normal minions but instead of absorbing ALL damage incoming, they simply only absorb damage that is fired UP THAT LANE… So a watcher on column 4 will not be affected by tiles sent up column 3, 5 etc… Only column 4. They also do not affect special skill damage either.

In V34.2 of beta, watchers were changed such that they now absorb a portion of all incoming damage.

Also added in V34.2 of Beta, watchers “rules” were updated such that they cannot be blocked from spawning AND cannot be stolen (results in them being destroyed, due I suspect to the negative mana when they’re killed (below))

Difficulty Watcher HP Spawn Rate
Cautious 120 3 Initially. Then +2 every 2 turns.
Brave 300 3 Initially. Then +2 every 2 turns.
Extreme 600 3 Initially, then +2 every 2 turns.

One really annoying thing about the Watchers is that, because they block a column, they can block you stunning the Mythic Titan with “off-colour” tiles… In order to “stun” the Mythic Titan, the tiles actually have to HIT the mythic titan… so Watchers that are in the way can become rather troublesome.

You Destroy Watchers by:

  • Simply throwing tiles…
In Beta V34.2 watchers take a portion of all incoming damage, so even if you don’t hit them directly they take a portion of the damage that goes to the titan. Direct hits on the watchers themselves hurts them more.
Excess Damage (above their HP) carries through to the Mythic Titan & DOES count as a stun tile.

  • Using Battle Items
    Beta V34.2 Change:
You can still only target the Mythic Titan itself with battle items, however a portion of the damage is split out onto each watcher present. So say there are 3 watchers present & you use an Axe Attack (200 damage to the target).
That 200 Damage is then split equally among the 4 things present (3 watchers & the titan). So each gets 50 damage. The mythic titan still gets the attack debuff.

  • Using Special Skills
    Beta V34.2 Change:
As with battle items, you can still only target the Mythic Titan itself, however as a portion of the damage is split out onto each watcher present, special skills now deal damage to Watchers also. For example, if you use Isarnia she will still only target the Mythic Titan. If there are 3 watchers present, each watcher gets 1/4 of the calculated damage.

On killing a watchers, a portion of the Mythic Titans mana is removed. This was added in V34.1 of testing. Will update with the ~% when i know. It looks to be about 5% removed per watcher killed.

Hero Interraction with Watchers

I have tested half these interractions personally, the other half I don’t own the hero :stuck_out_tongue:

Bera – The moth minions do not block watchers from spawning. Part of the watcher rules is that they cannot be blocked from summoning.*

Noor – She does NOT gain a new Sparrow Minion every time a watcher spawns. Sparrow minions DO destroy watchers when hitting. 1x Sparrow Minion removes ALL watchers

Skadi – Each watcher killed counts as a 1x stack. Limit is still 10x Stacks. Stacks end with that Mythic Titan fight & do not carry over to the next one (like normal).

Grimble – He DOES remove the watchers when he casts… Destroyed watchers count as minions in terms of the “small amoutn of mana”. His Direct Damage then applies to the Mythic Titan only.

Gobbler – He DOES remove the watchers with his cast. The watchers also count as destroyed minions & grant healing per watcher. His direct damage then applies to the Mythic Titan only.

Costume Gormek – He DOES remove watchers with his cast. The watchers also count as destroyed minions so behave the same as Gobbler in terms of healing per watcher.

Gefjon – Watchers cannot be stolen and instead results in destruction of said watcher. The casting of Gefjon’s special skill destroys the watchers first THEN deals damage to the Mythic Titan.

Captain of Diamonds – He DOES remove the watchers when he casts. His direct damage then applies to the mythic titan only.

Ureus (February HotM) – Unable to confirm; I personally expect that there WILL be sand damage imparted to the Mythic Titan.

:mechanical_arm: Mythic Titan Special Skills!

As with normal Titans, when the Mythic Titan Mana is fully charged, they fire off their special skill! Stunning the titan delays the casting by 1 turn. Hero Abilities (like a Silence or Mana Control) do also prevent the casting of the Special Skill like normal (e.g. Miki or Hansel etc…).

Note: In beta we have only seen one Mythic Titan; the Ifrit. I will add info to the table below if/when I can

Mythic Titan Special Skill Description Passive Skill
Ifrit
  • Deals 120% 150% damage to all enemies.
  • Weakens all ice shields on the board. Weakened shields have -50% attack.
  • All ICE shields on the board become enhanced. Enhanced shields have -50% attack.
  • Disables the use of 1 random battle item for 3 turns
  • Resists blocking of minion (watcher) summoning
  • Resists attack delays
  • Hades
    Gilgamesh
  • Deals 150% damage to all enemies.
  • Weakens all Dark shields on the board. Weakened shields have -50% attack.
  • Resists Mana Ailments
  • Baba Yaga

    Stage Property

Newly added in V34.1 of beta testing, there is now a stage property that triggers at a fixed interval during Mythic Titan Fights.

    The Stage Property is:

    Battle Item Interference
The Mythic Titan interferes with 1 of your Battle Items every 2 turns.
The interference prevents the use of a battle item for 3 turns!

Note: This used to be a part of Ifrits special skill but has now been made a “rule” for the Mythic Titan Fights.

    Essentially what it means:

    • If you take axes, mana pots, tornadoes & bear banners to the fight.
    • After 3 turns, one of those items will be LOCKED out… Meaning you cannot use that item.
    • After another 3 turns, that item will become UNLOCKED and a new random item will be LOCKED out for 3 turns.
    • Note it can be the same item again as it’s random.
    • This then repeats and carries on every 3 turns till the timer runs out.

    :money_mouth_face: LOOT!!

Arguably the most important section of all!

Loot is structured into three sets, linking up with the three different rankings/ leaderboards. The Loot is much like Tournament Loot in that it is split into “%” tiers with randomised loot for each tier.

This is the ranking for the highest total damage dealt by an alliance.

Note: Players are only able to contribute to the mythic titan alliance score of the alliance they are in when the event starts. Players will no longer be able to contribute to the Mythic Titan Alliance Score of any alliance when leaving or joining alliances while the Mythic Titan event is ongoing (this will also prevent the player from receiving the rewards tied to the alliance score).

NOTE - This is not a % based tiering but is instead rank based tiering (like in challenge events)

A Note on the Alliance Score:
You only can contribute to the alliance score for the alliance you were / are in at the start of the Mythic Titan event.
Leaving/ changing/ Joining an alliance after the Mythic Titan event has started will mean you cannot add/ contribute to the new alliances Mythic Titan Score & Ranking (nor get their rewards I presume).

    Tips & Tricks

So some important tips & tricks to help you be BEST!

    1. Extreme Battle obviously has the biggest perk in terms of attack stat boost; so this is where you’ll see the biggest & highest scores occurring.

    2. Your FIRST fight with a set of heroes is the most important… If you’re going to push hard for an epic score, do it on the first fight with heroes… This is due to the +20% attack you get from the first time Mythic Aura

    3. Normal Battle Item’s apply… If you’re wanting the absolute best outcomes, the primium tier battle items are best (like Scroll of Alteration, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Titan Banners etc…). Normal bag limits still apply & these items are expensive… Especially if you’re using them for Challenge Events, Normal Titans, Ninja Tower etc… So it would be worth budgetting & choosing which events you really want to push hard in.

    4. Damage Boosters will be key to those big scores… Heroes like Miki, Wu Kong, Tarlak, Gazelle and Ranvir are the best (Link here for some maths about which of them are the best: Titan Damage Boosters: Miki vs. Tarlak vs. Ranvir vs. Wu Kong vs. Guardian Gazelle)
HOWEVER, it becomes a trade off if you KEEP using them over time as their negative effects will start stacking up… You can use mana potions to still get over the mana generation ailment but becomes something to consider.

    5. Normal Squad Construction applies. So try getting as many of the following into your squad (ON COLOUR is best):

      • Attack Boost (e.g. Boldtusk or Ares)
      • Defence Down (e.g Grimm or Tiburtus – Athena / Costume Brienne are the best)
      • Extreme Damage Booster (e.g. Miki, Tarlak, Ranvir, Guardian Gazelle or Wu Kong)
      • Elemental Defence Down (e.g. Guardian Panther, Frida, Nordri, Almur, Evelyn etc…)
      • High Attack Stat heroes… More attack = more tile damage = more win.

    Other Stuff

    Transcript of the “Rules” Page:

A Mythic Titan has awokien! Deals as much damage as you can before it withrdraws! Players and Allianecs with the Highest Damage will be rewarded!

    Mythic Watchers
The Mythic Titan summons 2 Mythic Watchers every 2 turns, 3 Watchers are present when the battle starts

    • If the weak spot is on a Watcher, the Mychic Titan cannot be stunned, but the mythic watcher still takes increased damage
    • Watchers absorb a fraction of any damage that would be dealt to the Titan.
    • Destroying a Watcher reduces the mana of the Titan.
    • Trying to steal a Watcher will kill it instead
    • Watchers cannot be prevented from being summoned.

    Styles of Battle
The Mythic Titan will take more damage if you fight more daringly - but so will your Heroes! Choose from the following battle styles:

    • Cautious Battle
    • Brave Battle
    • Extreme Battle

    Mythic Aura
Mythic Aura has different effects based on how many times a Hero has fought against the Mythic Titan.

    • When a Hero is fighting against the Mythic Titan for the first time, the Hero’s Mana Generation and Attack is increased
    • After a Hero has been in 3 battles, the Heroe’s Mana Generation and Attack is decreased! The Hero is further weakened every time they go to battle.

Thank you a lot for tagging and all the infos you shared.

Would like to ask to you and any other beta testers if you\they could try use the “cat 4* purple hero” of “wonderland” event (i do not know the english name so i hope you understand which hero i meant) if he stun the titan, change the position of stun column point or if he can change the place of whatchers.

Also hope it does one of this things :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you so much @Guvnor, curious how it is… now we have the big picture of info at least.
    A question,… is there any special Energy/Flag ?

Does the same thing as he does against a normal titan.

Does Poison Damage & defence down (only if yellow). Large Enemies (e.g. titans) are not moved.

    Added to the OP now;

Mythic Titan has it’s own energy system which recharges once per day (like Ninja Tower & Raid Tournaments).

How many energy will we get per day? Absolutely no idea.

Thanks for the information! Theres a lot of work here.
If im not wrong this feature was the new way of playing within alliance members that was announced early in 2020. Although you compete with other alliances its not what i expected, i mean, is a good feature, but i was expecting something like a cooperative playing.

I will always be supportive and excited for new content!

How do folks feel about the Watcher HP? On extreme, 600 doesn’t seem like a significant difference from say 100. I assume almost everyone will be bringing a full mono stack (or at least 4 heroes of the strong element). I would guess those teams would deal over 600 damage with one on color tile and 1 damage for off color. So it doesn’t seem like 600 is much different than say 100. At the same time something like 1000 may be a tipping point where a 3 tile combo won’t stun the titan.

    Loot:
I’m hoping I can get to top 10% so I’ll gladly take an extra 5 or 10 emblems for each titan (hoping daily). Then I can get another 5-10 for top 10% total score. Then even more from my alliance!
I’m excited to get more loot!

The Mythic Aura gives another reason to have a deeper bench!

Thank you for including a comparison to the levels of each titan. I’m surprised there’s not one >=14 star titans.

Inevitable complaints that will come (regardless of whether they matter):
1 The longer fights and more content will take too much time
    2 Not enough loot
    3 Smaller alliances can’t compete
    4 Newer players can’t compete
5 Percent ranking versus pure ranking not fair for one reason or another
6 Mythic Aura fatigue and subsequent bug posts (including when people flee)

At some point they really need to increase farming drop rates if they are going to keep introducing new item heavy events.

So there is no separate ranking system and loot tier for difficulty level ?

I don’t y dev making that barrier for hero using in ninja tower and this mythic titans ? Since like 10 or 20 energy and 3 times usage ( can go further ) will stop the hero effect . ToL is okay as it hv only 10 stages but these 2. My personal opinion this hero barrier effect makes certain number of players (who r high spenders ) to do good and other players (like f2p) going to suffer . Hope this is not coming as headache effect as ninja tower ( boring and time consuming )

    Btw nice work @Guvnor :raised_hands:

Interesting that we only have sneak peaks of four Mythic Titans. No Dark/Purple Mythic Titan?
My guess is we’ll see it in due time.

I think the point is that by taking on the extra difficulty you’ll rank higher.

Correct. There are only the three leaderboards.

There is no limit on how many heroes / times you use a hero. There are the negative impacts but you can choose to ignore them and keep going if their buff / impact is big enough to warrant it (e.g. Miki).

Its highly highly highly unlikely that there will be that much energy in live game. Like I said, in BETA we have increased energy to assist with testing. Live game I would expect maybe 3-5 energy per day.

I only have Miki and Wu levelled… May be worth levelling a second Miki / Tarlak if you got them BUT it’s worth noting that all these heroes boost far outweighs the negative that they personally get.

    For example (quick comparison)

    • Miki +130% to all allies
    • Tarlak & Gazelle: +100% to all allies
    • Wu Kong / Ranvir: +195% to all allies
    • 10 uses impact: -52% to ONE… Still gets the bonus from their own buff, bringing them back to their normal attack level (Gazelle excepted).

Seems interesting enough but i think I’m going to skip this event. Just doesn’t sound like my cup of tea. I’d rather we work on more QoL improvements before more new content filled with flaws like so much of what we have been getting lately

Is there no loot difference between difficulties?

I will manage and do with wu and let see , as I don’t hv others :face_with_monocle:

    Yeah as guvor said above

Why do I only see 1 loot set (single-total-alliance)?
