Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

I haven’t felt dragon assist needed to be nerfed. But the stacking is more important to me so I consider this a net positive.

FYI “stacks” means a separate status effect and not added to one effect.

Yeah @Ruskin505 , these dragon abilities didn’t really do anything before, not sure what prompted the nerf (sorry…“update”). Unless they will be rolled out to other features soon, then people will really lose their mind if they weren’t changed in advance.

Also…did Stargazer lose the 20% mana boost @PlayForFun ? Every other ability seemed pretty reasonable/balanced but he got the most broken assist ability BY FAR.

This does answer one of the main questions I had which was the stacking.

They were not good enough when overwriting/being overwritten but now that we know the effects stack, some thought about best synergies with heroes can begin.

Going to be a while before we all have enough assist skills leveled up to a point where we have options. For now it is working with the one that we have.

The one I have is Silva, I assume it was also adjusted but just left off of the list (Resuscitating Breath, along with Leafwing).

I have just highligted the changes.
The mana boost is still there.

Thank you @PlayForFun for this. I do hope they actually follow through with the stacking assist more than anything. Having a hero burn DoT of 300~ overwritten by a dragon for 30~ is a big difference and why I currently don’t use an assist dragon.

Good to see this get updated, while having an additional ability existing outside of the hero battle is great, such a trial where you have no healers and bringing a dragon who heals could mean a lot more than just relying on healing aids. It’s not so good when they overwrite similar abilities with weaker ones.

What I’d also like to see is something reciprocal on the Dragon side, when equipped with different hero riders. Rather than just having different stats bonuses increased on the Dragon, have different heroes provide different secondary abilities to the Dragon that’s kind of like the calling card of the hero. Because right now the system apparently auto assigns the hero with the highest power level when you add a new dragon to the roster (which probably makes most sense any way).

For example, assigning Friar Tuck to a Nature 3* Dragon can have Increase in Mana Gain for the first few turns each wave, assigning Brienne could have the Rage ability for the first few turns each wave, etc.

I think this is a nerf
    A big one.

At least for me. It allowed me to bring an effective DD dragon instead of a character. Now its so low it dosent matter. So what if it stacks if its not effective.

The way it was before was better. Its not like it works in war. So whats the issue?

The only good one NOW is the mana boost one which of course i dont have. Le sigh. Also the 60–>30 crit really sucks as it would have been nice as is.

It was easy to work around it NOT stacking, especially when maxed the values of 60%/50%/40% are high enough to not need to worry about stacking.

But 20% is not enough to care anout especially when its not fully leveled.

Guess i just wont use which is good. Dont need to worry about parchmemts to get a miniscule buff.
