Does using Trainer Heroes later give a real advantage?

I think a lot of people only use them on fully ascended 4* and 5*s.
But does it really give a real advantage? I mean heroes require certain amount of XP to fulfill certain levels, and the amount of XP a Training Hero gives is also determined.

Imo not for the xp-cost-ratio, but maybe someone knows better.

It only decreases the special up chance. For that reason I don’t feed many trainers in the very beginning.

Those final levels cost a lot of ham. Saving your trainers for those levels saves you a lot of resources. It is critical if you are the type that stores up ham and feeders to power level.
