Do not spend on this game. it is not gaming but gambling

In a casino you don’t get a prize everytime. In this game you do. You’re issue is the strength of the prize. That value is down to you and your desires. I only have 1 5 star hero, yes I’d like more but so far I have been blessed with close to 30 4 stars so I can’t really complain.

Sorry, you are correct. Vivica is also a very good hero though. There are some bad TC20 heroes like Thorne, Quintus and Leonidas but most are very good. You can definitely build a competitive team with patience and with the AM gating everyone has nearly equal footing in rate of progress. You can summon 50 HOTMs but leveling is a different story.

I edited my original post to correct for the proper heroes.

Seems factually inaccurate and does not seem to capture the concept of a lottery.

The odds are the odds regardless of your results.

Playing the lottery will teach you this. Odds do not reduce merely because you pay more. You merely have more chances.

You had a bad experience but there is nothing deceptive going on here, nor is it unique to freemium games.

I take issue with posts like this because it stirs the pot with misinformation.

I do not disagree that people who pay more will progress faster. The game is more pay to win than ever before due to the number of special deals that offer guaranteed loot.

Personal example. My best friend has spent 1500 in a year. His team is better than mine. However, i have spent 150 in the same time frame and am very happy with my team. In fact, i just pulled Khiona with an Epic token from my monster chest. I still do well versus titans and war.

Your results and attitude clearly vary.

I disagree. This game IS gambling in the truest sense.

WHERE GEMS = CASINO CHIPS,
IF GEMS SPENT = (DICE ROLL)
RESULTS VARY = RESULTS VARY
NO SKILL = NO SKILL
NO GUARANTEES

Sorry for the caps. Was going to use a programming style post but then got lazy.

No, there are garauntees, you are garaunteed a hero for every single pull. The rarity of the hero is what differs, not the actual prize.

Think of it this way, a Corvette and a Prius are both cars. One may be flashier, faster and more expensive but in the end they are still both cars.

Perhaps i misstated. You gamble on the chance for a 5*

The OP is clearly unhappy with 3*

The point stands.

Every time you ‘spend’ gems in game you receive something. So yes there are guarentees.

When you gamble, yes results vary but there is also the potential to receive nothing. That does not happen in the game.

Just because you don’t get what you wanted does not make it gambling.

Sorry only saw this reply after I posted.

Yes I agree to a degree with what you say but it is not gambling, eg casino style, in the truest sense because you do get rewarded.

I am not a lawyer, and this may vary from country to country, but I think in order to be legally considered gambling (and thus under regulation) you have to be able to put real money in and get real money out. A casino, where chips are the placeholder and can be converted both to and from real money, is gambling. A mobile game, where you can buy gems with real money but cannot sell gems to get money back out, is not. There is a different term to cover games like this (“simulated gambling”, I think), and IARC gives out a higher age rating to games that have it. As a side note, I think that’s why they removed the Game Corner from later Pokemon games; Nintendo wanted to keep their IARC ratings low enough to actually include their target demographic.

Free drinks count???

doesn’t have to be money in the US. It just has to be something of value. I would be surprised if that differed too much from country to country.

Thank you for this information, I agree as it becomes ha bitial to spend, i stupidly spent over £300 on a different game i am still trying to save it back. No such luck

I’ve nothing to say about SGG, they know how the market works and probably they will not be here 2 years from now, so they desperately need to make a profit and “gambling” schemes are the most efficient ones.

I don’t think that games like this should be banned (I play them a lot :p) but they should be regulated on a app store level. I don’t allow my kids to play this kind of games because they are not mature enough, and this type of games incentive addictive behaviors that are not healthy.

This game is not gambling, but it’s monetization is based on a game of chance. More precisely it categorizes as a Gacha. To make this game fall under the category of gambling, one would have to be able to win prizes that can be traded for a monetary value. You can’t sell your heroes for real money, so not actually gambling, despite the many gambles you might take.

Rather than not spend at all, I’d caution people to not overspend, so set yourself a budget. This game can pull at your wallet and it can be hard to resist that pull. If you know yourself to have problems with such games, then go, now. Do not spend on this game based on false expectations. Familiarize yourself with the summon odds, you can find them under the ? buttons in the game.

Personally, I prefer spending my gems on speeding up chests. I’ve got two tc20’s rolling so I’m never short of heroes to ascend. Speeding up the chests gets me more ascension mats, and gives me rewards more to play for which I enjoy. It’s the win win way to spend gems for me.

As above I continually use the 20 gems to restart the count on the monster kills this and especially the individual colour kills seems to reap fairly decent rewards

You spend gems or coins its gaming as you worked within the game to earn the tokens spent.
But the cash only starter packs carry these “tiny” words "at least two of the following’ that is gambling, illegal in some places, breaking gambling information and rules in others. It’s a matter if jurisdiction if nothing else.
I will buy the occasional gem pack. Because i get a known return. Its a sale.
But and this is grinding me.
What Heroes can i not get through TC20 and why? There are no winners. Just a ranking and to get that ego boost it seems i either have to save forever or break my gambling prohibition. (People can get jailed for that. Not my problem. I just had an addicted father, )
Yes you got some good ways to earn not spend but to have to use summons at high odds, to get these heroes becomes a slot machine. Dont forget we have to elevate them and that should be the price we pay.
Like saving for three months and getting no compensation for the roll of S1 3 stars. (Fixed but still an expensive introduction to S2)
Been playing a year. Poverty made me notice the chance warning. Nearly got my first 5 star team finished.
Then i got to wonder if i have to level 3 star Atlantis to get bigger ones who i dont even know if available through TC20.
If truly skills based then there should be the same chances for everyone except for those who need to stroke their ego’s a bit faster, they can keep stroking, but I don’t want to see these words on my gravestone "only 30 gems for a chance.’ its as bad as “opportunity” in WWE

This isn’t a F2P, neither a P2W. It’s a B2W a bet to win.
Like in casino lucky people confuse you. Colourful heros and the small, tiny chance to get them create an illusion in your mind.

I only spend gems I recived by the game.

I just had a thought …

E&P is unlike a slot machine, in that paying never results in valuables.

E&P is like a jukebox, in that it paying always results in playing …

… as well as in that the non-paying audience also gets to enjoy the playing!
