Complaining about E&P - time to find a different way to vent

Here’s my take on it - people want to do new things. doing the same content with the same heroes is boring.

So people need new content, new heroes, or both to stay engaged.

New content is relatively sparse in this game - we get a few seasonal events and 2-3 new monthly challenges (which are really only new once) a year. I don’t really count season 2 as a lot of “new” content because it’s just the maps with new monster icons each month. Seems like once a year we get something with new mechanics (2018 was alliance wars and 2019 will be weekly challenge raids with various team restrictions). Class emblems i wouldn’t really say are new mechanics just an extension of hero leveling and by design is a really slow paced thing.

So the other piece is new heroes. The problem here is that you hit a wall of diminishing returns on hero summons. You hit that wall quicker if you spend money but you hit it nonetheless. Like someone above - once you’ve played the game for awhile and have most of the tc20 heroes and atlantis 3 and 4s, the odds of getting something new for your team becomes tiny.

So for longer time players (whether spenders c2p etc), you have something with IMO slow new content and rapidly diminishing hero value for summons spend with tiny odds to add to your team. You’re seeing more complaining because more people are moving into that “longer time players wih most of the tc20 heroes” category. When the 3s and the 4s improve your team, it’s easy to get value from hero summons even if you don’t get the hotm or atlantis 5. But when you have all the 4 star healers and debuffers with some in duplicate, getting more of them is just junk.

So you have a larger and larger chunk of players that have ridiculously tiny odds of getting new heroes that matter in a game that releases new content very slowly. So you have a larger and larger chunk of people who used to get value from spending (whether large or small amounts) that now are getting almost no value at all. That’s the current end-game dilemma SGG is in right now - the only way end game players can get value is to be total whales and spend until you get something new (doesn’t have to be every month) and that’s not an option for many nor desired for those who can.

for example, the most likely outcome of an atlantis 30x is NOT getting an atlantis 5 star or the hotm. For many end game players, that’s 8400 gems (roughly $84 give or take depending on deals) spent with nothing in return.

So that long ramble is why you’re seeing more negative discontent this year than you did last year - more players are in the “don’t need more tc20 heroes” state.

I’d like to protest on your complaint about me complaining about monee complaining on peeps complaining about this game. Im not 100% sure, but I think my protest puts me in the same group with the people complaining about this game, which is the majority (or a vocal minority) of the playerbase, which means I’m right, right?

@Dante2377 nailed it. I am in a growth phase being a newbie and it is fun and I get the positive feedback.
I can imagine this game getting boring as the positive feedback diminishes.

However S&G has developed two new events to drive development of the heroes.

I think the challenge raids will spark interest. . I am looking forward to seeing anchors hero guide completing the 3* heroes assuming someone takes that on.

The trials has also done the same thing. I am levelling up heroes I wouldn’t have leveled to participate in these events.

Perhaps the end gamers have these already. In which case, sorry.

This is not a complaints, this is a feedback. You have your opinion, people have the right to their own. What if some people are tired of topics like this one?

The difference between complaints and feedback is super obvious.

No one dislikes it when people say things like “Here are some ideas I have for ways to make the game more enjoyable for me: A)…” The ideas may be very common repeats, or very unlikely to get implemented. But this is an appropriate and constructive way to try to change things.

What gets super old is people coming to the forum and ranting about how the game is a scam, raids are a joke/unfair/unwinnable, boards aren’t random, AM are impossible to find no matter what, etc. etc.

If you want to rant, jump on Line and gripe to your friends. But coming to a community space to dump a bunch of venom on your fellow players is less than ideal.

It’s also worthless. What is SG going to do with those posts? Say, “wow, Bill23456 is incoherently angry about summoning. Guess we’d better triple the percentages!” I’m sure they basically roll their collective eyes and move on, like the rest of us do.

That’s SG’s business what to do with NEGATIVE feedback. So, question is - why so many people leave negative comments?

It’s extremely common that more people complain than offer praise.

It might be less worthless than you think.

SGG has serverside, all that data, and they’re analyzing it all. They can read out our behaviour, what we are doing, what not, what we buy, what not. Getting great statistics from it all. But when you want to interpret the statistics, you need to find the meaning in the real world. Causality. You see something, but what does it mean? They are not doing this/buying that, but why?

They are definitely not going to change the game at the whim of Bill23456. But when their data shows 100k players doing this or not doing that, and it’s what Bill23456 was on about, his feedback could help the devs put some meaning to a part of the 100k number. The data leads here, clearly. It’s just a question of whether SGG’s data analysts stop at the data and graphs or go as far as sifting through the trashdump?

They don’t ask for any information when you sign up for the forum that would allow them to connect your forum account and your game account.

Don’t you think that if they were trying to apply analytics between the forum and the game that they’d at least make sure they had a way to connect the two? It would be super easy to do…

One of the best managers I ever worked for had a policy : you could come to her and rant, rave, vent, complain all you wanted BUT you also needed to bring a viable, realistic suggestion for how to improve the situation, or have a alternative way to do something that you felt just wasn’t working. It actually worked very well, and made people feel they had a voice, and valuable input in the problem-solving process.

Garanwyn, they don’t ask for your posts too…so…why are you posting? Actually, i mean - let people talk, if they want.

Most of what I am reading is out right complaints against EP and then attempts to get other players to “boycott” the game or something. I have played a lot of war type games and this is the most enjoyable that I have found. I believe all of them have some sort of purchase offers to push you quicker through the game so this one is no worse than any of the others. I do enjoy the fact they have a forum for players to help each other but all the ridiculous EP bashing in the forum is just that, ridiculous. I also like the players who are providing their insights on previous played games. That alone makes the forum for me. And yes everyone is entitled to their opinion. My intent was not to disrupt the forum by no means so I apologize to those I have offended.

My point exactly. Thank you. : )

I was replying to a specific comment about whether SG were likely applying analytics or not to forum posts. It helps to read the post someone is responding to, so you can understand the context of their comment.

Edited To Add: you’ll note that nowhere did I say people shouldn’t be allowed to say whatever they like (within forum rules).

Pointing out that something is tiresome, unconstructive, repetitive, useless, unpleasant, and would be better shared with friends is very different than saying people shouldn’t be allowed to do it.

Both types of topics (complaints/anti-complaints) are ethernal. Both types are useless. You just think, your own opinion is more important. 8) SG don’t care about that forum anyway - they are watching at digits only, as someone told before. People just think, E&P is a game…but it is not true. This is a **** casino and this misunderstanding is the main reason of all topic like that one.
yeah…english isn’t my native language, sorry. 8)

That is powerful information indeed. But for that kind of information, they already have the facebook connection to the game. In here it’s not about the individual giving the feedback, it’s about the subject of the feedback.

In here they’d not be looking for a particular (kind of ) player and what they say, they’d be looking for, for example, comments about a certain in game shop offer.

It also means that, while complaints are nowhere near worthless imho, in here we’re also nearly not as important as some of us might think

That’s my take on it, at least. Can’t ground it to facts because I’m not a fly on SGG’s office walls.

i have 8 real life friends who play E &P with me so we all face the same trials and tribulations that everyone else faces and out of the 9 of us only one of us complains.

However he is the only one that never listens when we say what deals to purchase and when to hold his gems and gets into rage rolls as people who only been playing a few months have more 5 stars than him.

All of us have kids and families to support so we are c2p, yet other than him, none of us have the issues with SG we see people complaining about in the forums. When we have a bad roll we talk about and and just be like whelp on to the next one. When we have a good roll we celebrate and talk to people who already have said character to get pointers.

Male, female, moms, dads, grandmothers doesn’t make a difference, none of us in our alliance ever complain like we see in these forums. The game is fun, takes patience, and is constantly getting updated for my small stipend to support them. I’m all for it and hope it continues on the path it’s on. nice post.

No complaints from my side. I just told - people can have own opinion.

And that’s the problem. It’s up to the developers to come up with new solutions.

For example, I constantly suggest higher chances for summoning 5* heroes, especially old HotMs or there are several great ideas like adding them to Elemental Summon Gate and TC 20.

@Petri @mhalttu @EmpiresPuzzles Still no reaction from you and it’s quite a common issue. Do we spend too little money that we don’t even deserve your attention? A simple reply would be enough for me to show you really care…
