Update 2019-May-27

Recruits per hour of Autoplay

Atlantis Rising 2.6-9N > 824.9 recruits per Autoplay hour ( 744 recruits per 100 World energy)
Quest- Recruits I = 824.9 recruits per Autoplay hour ( 295 recruits per 100 World energy )
Quest- Recruits II > 537 recruits per Autoplay hour ( 333 recruits per 100 World energy )
Stage 1 only Quests Recruits II > 442.9 recruits per Autoplay hour ( 500 recruits per 100 world energy )
Stage 1 only Quest Recruits I > 442.9 recruits per Autoplay hour ( 375 recruits per 100 world energy )
s1-7-7 = 442.9 recruits per Autoplay hour ( 266.6 recruits per 100 World energy )
s1-8-7 = 338.8 recruits per Autoplay hour ( 300 recruits per 100 World energy )

Quest- Recruits I = 2.645 Autoplay hours per 5* 4.80
Quest- Recruits II less than 4.063 Autoplay hours per 5* 4.80
s1-7-7= 4.926 Autoplay hours per 5* 4.80
s1-8-7= 6.44 Autoplay hours per 5* 4.80

Note: Original test team ( default s1-8-7 team ) was too weak to finish Recruits II on Autoplay. More data is needed with the custom replacement team ( Red 4* 4.70 & 4* 3.60, Yellow 4* 3.60, Green & Purple 4* 4.70 Healers, no Blue )

Thanks for calculations. 10 runs isn’t enough for exact science, but a good starting point.

The first stages of both Find Recruits have always been worth the flags. But stages 2+3 aren’t when compared to 8-7.

Find Recruit I, stages 2+3 = 2.78 recruits per flag
Find Recruit II, stages 2+3 = 3.00 recruits per flag

The 3 is a bit larger than your result with limited sample size, but I would still go to 8-7 for the better material drops.

==Flat or skewed curve ==

I would love to know if recruit loot drops are a flat distribution or a skewed curve.

SG, and mobile MMOs, appear to love the 10%, 80%, 10% curve.

More data would be helpful.

==Materials==

Season 2 appears to be the Devs way to speed farm materials, at the expense of recruits.

Unfortunately we won’t know until all of Season 2 unlocks.

==Common Herb problem ==

Even if recruits per Autoplay hour wasn’t my personal deciding factor ( less grinding), players get tired of Common herbs & Wooden Shields ( linky, linky)

This topic has some great discussion of alternatives:

==Speed Recruit farming ==

Since recruits per Autoplay hour is my personal deciding factor, Recruits I & II offer the best recruits per Autoplay hour on stage 3.

30 recruits is 9- 12 mob waves and 6- 8 bosses in 8-7.

35 recruits is 12 mob waves and 8 bosses in 8-7.

Why do you care about “per hour?”
Also, you should really consider each stage of the Recruits quests separately, as playing each one is its’ own decision.

When you have a lot of money and buy as much world energy as you wish, then you don’t care about flags as they are an infinite ressource.

These players need recruit/play time factor to decide.

Everyone has a different play style. See below for mine.

==Autoplay per hour==

==Mobile Gaming==

I use my smartphone for many things, reading the forum, playing games besides Empires, messaging friends, talking to friends, etc.

While my smartphone is busy farming recruits, I cannot use it for anything else.

Faster recruit farming frees my smartphone for other uses.

==Boredom==

I have to check my smartphone periodically to see if it is ready to autoplay the next stage or replay a stage.

Faster recruit farming frees up my real world time for other uses.

==Memory and Batteries==

Unfortunately my smartphone uses a limited type of memory ( flash memory ) and a high performance, moderate durability battery ( lithium ion film ). While both are rated for two years, heavy use can degrade both the performance, and the maximum capacity, of both. The battery is especially susceptible to degradation due to heat caused by high graphic processes.

Faster recruit farming puts less wear on physical components extending the performance and life of my smartphone.

==Stages of Recruits II Quest==

Breaking down Recruits II per stage versus s1-7-7
Easy 20 recruits- same as fighting 4.6 mob waves and 2.3 bosses
Medium 25 recruits- same as fighting 5.8 mob waves and 2.9 bosses
Challenging 35 recruits- same as fighting 8.1 mob waves and 4.0 bosses

Breaking down Recruits II per stage versus s1-8-7.
Easy 20 recruits- same as fighting 6.8 mob waves and 4.5 bosses
Medium 25 recruits- same as fighting 8.5 mob waves and 5.6 bosses
Challenging 35 recruits- same as fighting 11.9 mob waves and 7.9 bosses

Even breaking down the stages separately, speed farming Recruits II is faster since you fight significantly less mob waves and bosses than running s1-7-7 or s1-8-7.

==Free World Energy==

Free, or bought, leveling a rainbow team of 5* 4.80 takes 10,910 recruits or about 674 hours of free WE. Luckily I can regenerate free World energy while my smartphone is off.

However, to spend world energy my smartphone must be farming.

To farm 10,910 recruits, using only “Recruits I” takes my smartphone 13.225 hours, using only “Recruits II” takes my smartphone 20.3 hours, using only s1-7-7 takes my smartphone 24.63 hours, using only s1-8-7 takes my smartphone 32.2 hours.

While “Recruits II” is not as fast as “Recruits I” is is still faster than s1-7-7 and significantly faster than s1-8-7. So every stage of “Recruits I” and “Recruits II” is time I have for other stuff.

Like writing very, very, very long posts to the forum.

That’s a pretty great explanation that I wasn’t expecting! =-]

That being said, I do think your approach here is less useful for most other players. I think the majority of us care more about “per world energy” than “per hour.”

To that end, for the sake of making this thread more thorough:

  • 7.7: 2.8 recruits/WE, 236.7 XP/WE, ~500 ham/WE, ~1000 iron/WE, plenty of mats/ingredients (rugged clothes as common item)

  • 8.7: 3 recruits per WE, 272.3 XP/WE, ~550 ham/WE, ~1200 iron/WE, plenty of mats/ingredients (sadly common herbs are more common here)

  • Recruits I.1: 3.75 recruits/WE, 325 XP/WE, 600 ham/WE, 1325 iron/WE, minimal mats/ingredients

  • Recruits I.2: 2.5 recruits/WE, 212.5 XP/WE, 400 ham/WE, 850 iron/WE, minimal mats/ingredients

  • Recruits I.3: 3 recruits/WE, 285 XP/WE, 450 ham/WE, 950 iron/WE, minimal mats/ingredients

  • Recruits II.1: 5 recruits/WE, 325 XP/WE, 600 ham/WE, 1325 iron/WE, minimal mats/ingredients

  • Recruits II.2: 3.1 recruits/WE, 212.5 XP/WE, 400 ham/WE, 850 iron/WE, minimal mats/ingredients

  • Recruits II.3: 2.9 recruits/WE, 237.5 XP/WE, 375 ham/WE, 792 iron/WE, minimal mats/ingredients

==SCIENCE !!!==

Thank you for making this topic more complete. Peer review is awesome ( linky, linky )

==Recruits v16==

My runs for Empires v16 are giving me 8.8 per s1-8-7 run and 8.54 recruits per s1-7-7 run while your appear to be getting 9 per s1-8-7 run and 8.4 per s1-7-7.

It is interesting that my number are closer together ( -0.26 ) and yours are twice as far apart ( -0.6 ).

While I have 200 loot tickets ( VIP Pass helps ) and 30 free flasks from the game, I am not that interested in resolving this issue.

My 1-7-7 results suffer from tiny (4) sample size. (My 1-8-7 results most certainly do not (295).

I am currently tracking recruits, troops and 1*/2* heroes in s1-7-7

Could you share your s1-8-7 loot curve?

I am interested in how many times 7,8,9,10,11 recruits happened.

So far my data on s2-6-9-N is showing an almost flat curve with 15 being the most common recruit drop. But my sample size is tiny since I am using the leveling trick.

Sorry for slow reply. Work kicked my ■■■ last week. Anyhow, next time I’m in front of a computer I’ll reply again woth the detaisl.

As promised:

Out of the 295 times I recorded loot details from beating level 1-8-7, the recruit drops were:

  • 8: 94
  • 9: 108
  • 10: 93

If it matters, these runs were all recorded between 5/22/18 and 7/26/18. By that time, I had recorded enough data that I felt comfortable that the ingredient and ascension materials drops are pretty uniformly distributed (on a “per world energy” basis) across all levels.

For what it’s worth, so far the data I’ve collected for season 2 levels so far is leading me to believe that ingredients/mats drop more frequently (per WE) in the new levels. Still, nothing is close to 1-8-7 for recruits per WE.

Great info there…thanks to all contributors.

I read recently on the forum that 2-15-10 is best for farming?
Is it any good for farming?
Better in normal or hard mode?

Thanks once again for any feedback :slight_smile:

I’ve been farming 2-15-10 Hard most of the time, except for filling monster chests. I like it for a reasonably high number of recruits/flag, and a lot of firestone.

@hotdamnmess’s farming guide is useful for this:

@Gryphonknight, this is amazing. I am always astounded to find somebody more efficiency obsessed than I am in this game. Great stuff, even if minimizing my own time farming isn’t quite my goal, I love that you calculated it!

Atlantis Rising

Atlantis Rising + 2.6-9N ( see @madmarv’s auto play team in top post ) is now the new Royalty of autoplay recruits per hour.

AR+2.15-9N ( 28-31 recruits for 4we ) should be highly ranked, but I cannot autoplay the stage at this time.

Season 2

Without Atlantis Rising, 2.15-9N ( 19-21 recruits for 7we ) and 2.15-8H ( 33-35 recruits for 12we ), should be highly ranked, but I cannot autoplay them at this time.

Without Atlantis Rising ( -3we, +50% loot ) 2.6-9N is only 14-16 recruits for 6we.

Praise

Thank you.

Love your farming guide, especially the Atlantis Rising and Season 2 Avatar missions

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but what level is the Atlantis 2.15-9 talking about? I’m still newish. Trying to figure out the short hand. :man_shrugging: Thank you for all this math. It makes my head spin. Lol

@Matt0627 Season 2, Province 15, Stage 9 = 2-15-9
