Yeah official name for the Pity Counter is “Fated Summon” (heh, I see several folks have posted it now) but notably, it’s not only a Beta (“maybe someday”) discussion but also (see added to first post of linked topic) from staff:
I don’t know if all this could be taken as a guarantee (events have certainly slipped before!), but if it’s very likely (and SG may well have strong incentive to include this feature sooner rather than later to possibly skirt anti-gambling regulations in various locales), then it seems like #NoSummonOctober (at least until v52 is live) is a reasonable plan if it means all those Friar Tucks and Dawas from major portals will at least each count as +1% toward a 5* summon choice of some kind.
