First, concerning the unknown target: that happened to me a couple of times, when I took too long to choose my team. Had to press attack again and put the team back quicker.
Second, the never ending attack. Also happened to me, and I solved it by restarting the tablet.

Support was contacted, still investigating, the fight btw lasted after war ended
