Can't connect since this morning's update

Since the 1.12 update this morning I can’t connect to the game on my Android tablet. It was working fine only 20 mins before the update was due to be done. Now the game loads but then I get “connecting” which I’ve let run for up to 10 minutes but nothing happens. Can anyone help please?

I definitely have the latest version and I don’t have a storage problem, cleared cache this morning.
