Can You Migrate a Whole Alliance? The Migration Toolkit

Greetings, Guardians,

While we are super-excited to join the Guardian family, we felt it important to share our story with you. This way, you understand where we are coming from and why we are so excited to join.

Our story begins about three months ago. Our parent alliance had recently entered the top-100 Alliances, and really wanted to become an elite top-10 Alliance. As a result, our alliance was founded as a training ground for new potential members. In this training/feeder alliance we would grow and be able to learn from more experienced players with the promise that when we were strong enough, we could join the prime alliance and progress.

Unfortunately, over the last Month, we have lost numerous leaders, including our founding leader. When he announced simply, “I quit the game”, he promoted Jmap to leader and quit the game. The remaining co-leaders at the main Alliance argued our alliance should dissolve: That the top 8 should join the main alliance so they would be full and “screw the rest.” This was completely unacceptable to all of us who had grown as friends.

A vote was put forth with 3 options. 1. Dissolve and Absorb into the prime. Lowest players need to find their own way. 2. Continue on as an Independent alliance. 3. Market ourselves to existing Families of Alliances to join. The third option was selected unanimously.

We decided we would give our parent alliance the option to also share a Value Proposition on why we should remain in the Family. However, they decided to kick us all from the joint line group instead. Therefore, we renamed ourselves, “AbandonedChildren of dbs” (dbs standing for deadbeats). Needless to say, we were deeply offended and hurt by the actions of those remaining in the prime and we were left needing to find a new home.

JMap took the lead in soliciting options from various Families of Alliances. He shared a post in AR that garnered interest. An in-game friend also helped connect him with various Alliance recruiters. He also joined a mergers and collaborations group and leaders group on Line to build relationships and garner interest. In short order, JMap shared three quality “value propositions” from various Families of Alliances to join.

After careful evaluation, answering questions, and soliciting everyone’s opinion, the decision was made to join the Guardians Family of Alliances. While we have been without a Family we have let only one Titan escape, and have had dominating wins in all of our wars.

Everyone in our team has evaluated Guardians and your leader Annie, and has made the conscientious decision to join your Family. Our goal was to find a place where we could learn, grow, and enjoy the game while also teaching others and helping others grow as well. We are completely stoked about joining your team, and hope that we also prove to you our value in Titans, wars, and ultimately long-term friendship.
