Buy all compensation

In my case, I believe I was overcharged four cents US. I consider a flask fair compensation.

I paid $15.91 after taxes for the “Buy All” offer, which I really found convenient. I can’t speak for those in other countries, but if you’re in the U.S., and this is what you paid or very close to it (minus California, whose taxes are way higher), then there should be no reason to complain as the prices are pretty much the same as if buying all five separately. I enjoyed the convenience of a single purchase for 5 stocked items, and I will enjoy using the WE flask next week during Atlantis Rises. Thank you, @Petri.

I paid in Korean won, which has lower value than USD.
And I also contacted support about this.

I wish I could feel better as a loyal user. But why do I feel worse? Something feels off about this compensation (since others got gems.) Maybe it’s because this is usually what I get in loot drops instead needed mats? Or maybe because my world energy refills anyway, so this compensation means nothing in the end?

(On the flip side… I commend SGG for that coin deal … it’s one of the best I have seen. I was hating how taverns summons odds and curation was designed, but despite that I liked the offer and quickly bought into it.)

But the business strategy is too archaic, I wish SGG could pivot clearly from being a outdated “purchase brand” to a “usage brand”.

Did you lose more from the “Buy All” purchase than if you would’ve paid individually by a sizeable margin? It really depends on how much you overpaid on whether or not you received something else other than the flask.

So you have to open a support ticket to get the compensation? I purchased the offer and haven’t gotten the compensation. :confused:

Yes, I used the buy all in Australia and got my compensation of 150 gems yesterday.

I noticed the difference as soon as I purchased but figured the ~$0.50AUD was worth it for the time saving.

You can try by submitting one, hopefully they will take care of it. I have submitted mine shortly after the issue was known.

I paid 5p extra (didn’t even notice) and I got a World flask.

So rather than complaining why not look at what they gave you and the difference you paid (I know some got the gems) and ask if the difference you paid matches.

If an offer flashed up selling me a World Flask for 5p I’d laugh then get it as it would be exceptional value.

Honestly some people just insist on being Glass half full all the time…

My post isn’t about the money, it’s about brand and user retention strategy. And it’s not to complain, but to give insight because I want this game and company to thrive (an everyone wins scenario.)

Money is money. The currency here has less value than usd, but considering the economic times… each penny is important now. Who knows where the economy will be in a month.

Although to SGG the currency discrepancy means that in their POV some people spent more or less… that is not the perception from the people who have to live and use that local currency, the value from local market level point of view is different from SGG’s.

I spent money just like the people who got gems as compensation for the mistake. Gems are substitutes as in game currency, but the flask isn’t currency in game~ My world energy recharges on its own after all. So some people got compensated with in game currency and others didn’t. However everyone who bought the deal paid in real currency.

Regardless of the fact that this flask is worthless… really my issue is that giving some people gems and some people a flask is not the way to handle brand perception to their users to encourage their loyalty and advocacy.

So the perception they are driving with this is basically, depending where you live and currency you use …some of you deserve gems which can be used towards purchases and summons… and the rest can suck it. Go farm for some materials. End of discussion.

After months and months, All the little things add up. I am not asking them to give me a dollar worth of gems. I am voicing my feelings to them as a loyal user who spends… that there needs to be better engagement by developing a “usage brand” strategy instead of seemingly fumble around in the dark.

Of course due to lack of consistent corporate comms w their community… we all feel like we are in the dark and assume they are in the dark too. (To be fair… they replied in email promptly. But as someone who works in comms and branding… they did only the bare minimum and the email was very dry and not useful or impactful.)

Good brands need user and community feedback to improve. I am just being a loyal user and consumer and taking time to do so.
