So the minions are 300 health each… And the other hit is morel… So… For a 4*… Limit broken for defense and health… Seems decent for me… And… This is pre-buff.
Imho he just need increments in his base stats ie Attack/Defence/HP … just make him more survivable thats all.
His specials r OK….
If the old damage calculation thread is anything to go by, that’s not exactly how it goes.
Damage ≈ 100 x ( θ x Att / Def ) ^ 1.35
Let’s assume θ averages to 1, and look at a few possible defense ratings vs Cap’s 724 attack @ 260%, Morel’s 946 attack @ 180%
Defense 800
Cap: 227 damage (240 post-buff)
Morel: 226 damage
Defense 900
Cap: 194 damage (205 post-buff)
Morel: 193 damage
Defense 1000
Cap: 168 damage (178 post-buff)
Morel: 167 damage
So… essentially identical damage pre-buff, interestingly, Cap slightly ahead after the buff.
Morel actually hits all, whereas Cap chains through folks with minions. Of course, one point is that Morel’s niche (applying DD) is a wee bit broader than Cap’s (removing minions).

My greater point, though, is that the damage of either hero is not the relevant point anyway, it’s their special effects. Buffing Captain of Diamond’s damage by around 10 hit points is pretty arguably not particularly meaningful.
That i can agree with… An inconsequential buff… But… I use the guy… And you give me a little bit more damage… And i take it.
Also… I only use Cap’n against minion tanks… So he effectively becomes a hit all…
Hey I agree, it’s not like I’m exactly rolling in 5* anti-minion specialists either, so I’ll take what I can get with Cap (and cGormek of course), it’s just… if they were gonna actually buff the Captain, more than +10 points of damage would have been nice.
Like you (and presumably most folks), I don’t bring Cap for the damage anyway, and wouldn’t have minded if they just made him a little better at the reason folks do bring him (i.e. Pest Control).
(Plus of course my Cap is emblemed for defense too, not attack, since his job is to stay alive in a world of heinous 5* and just bring down their minions, eh?)
I wouldn’t have minded if they added a Russell like… Cannot miss.
I agree that he could use a a bigger damage buff.
HOWEVER, I noticed something very amazing this weekend. I fought a team with Freya and cCadlien, and when the Captain charged up, there was a raven on every minion, plus the dodge buff. When I used the captain, he hit the first target for damage and missed the second, but he still cleared ALL of the enemy minions. I had no idea he could do that.
That’s why I went full shield path on emblems for him. His damage is negligible, yes, but if you can keep him alive he’s very handy for minion removal.
I think it might be, a special dodge stops his minion removal… But a rogue emblem dodge does not.
That happened probably because the active dodge belonged to costume freya, not cKad (they overwright). Freya dodges damage from special skills. CKad dodges everything. CoD first removes minion then applies damage, so minion will be removed but the dameage may be dodged.
It was a vanilla Freya.
Anyway, I shall give it another try when I have the opportunity.
