Black Knight's reduced damage to 1

Hello,

Does anyone know how Black Knight’s dropping any received damage to 1 works exactly when it comes to tile damage and match-3?

Does he got 50% chance to drop each individual tile damage to 1 or that of the whole match-3+ to 1?

As I have many run in event VS Black Kninght’s, each invidual tile has chance damage to 1.
Same behaviour with Wu Kong and Ranvir, each invidual tile has chance to miss.
