Ascension Advice - Have a healthy 4* lineup

I have recently gotten my few 5* heroes as high as I can (Except 2nd Evelyn), and am back to leveling 4* heroes. I have some choices to make, and would like advice. At this point, my main focus is wars, as I have decent Titan teams flushed out for various colors. I’d also be interested in opinions on who I should feed away, such as a 2nd Agwe or 3rd Cheshire Cat.

I currently have the mats to ascend 1 Green, 1 purple, 4 red, 3 yellow. But, I only have 4 Fine Gloves

Of your available options, I think these would make the biggest contribution to War teams:

  • Proteus # 2 – useful for all occasions

  • Buddy # 2 – debuffs are huge for War

  • Li Xiu – you need more holy and she’ll provide the most diversity, and mana control in War is hugely helpful

  • Another red, depending on your play style – if you tend to use Wilbur on Offense, a second one maxed is a good choice; if you tend to like two healers on your teams, a third Boldtusk is a good choice; if you tend to use your main Gormek, I’d go with a second; if none of that applies, then I’d choose Kelile

Thank you for your advice! I definitely like Li Xiu, I will probably do her next. Buddy is also a great idea, as after my first green-stack, I lack teeth with my other green heroes. Proteus is just… Proteus. He’s amazing! Lol. I will probably hold off on red to see what happens, although I kitchen-sink feed my heroes, so it won’t take me long at all to max 2-3 from 3x60.

I’m not personally a fan of kitchen sink feeding, I prefer to use the 20% bonus by working on a rainbow of heroes at a time (I think of it as being like saving 2 months of leveling over the course of a year).

That said, since you use that method, I agree you could just punt deciding on your next red for now, since I’d prioritize them in the order I listed them.

If you happen to get enough mats for a second green or purple, or another blue before you get to the red decision point — then Proteus # 3, Buddy # 3, or Triton would all be reasonable choices for Gloves # 4 ahead of another red, given your existing quantity of red heroes and the tendency away from green tanks in War meaning you won’t tend to need a ton of red for stacking.

It’s funny… I tend to be a very logical thinker, and that 20% bonus is, by the numbers, a more efficient way of feeding. However, it makes my skin crawl to have too many heroes at various level numbers. Seeing screenshots of some rosters with like 30 heroes partially leveled makes me anxious! I did color-feed a set of 4* one time, and even made it almost all the way to 3x60 for each of them, but finally broke and force-fed them the rest of the way!

Actually, the way I tend to level heroes now is 2 at a time. The higher-level hero gets kitchen sink fed all 2* and trainer heroes, and the lower-level one gets all 1*. I know it’s not any faster than just kitchen sink feeding 1 hero at a time, but I’ve grown to like that method.

I do only need 1 more Cape to have enough for a blue hero. And capes tend to come pretty easily, where I’d trade a handful of 4* heroes for a freakin’ Sturdy Shield.

Edit - For red heroes, I am going to save 8 blades just in case I get lucky and pull a 5* red. I have everything I need to level one, except the hero itself!

I like what Zephyr said, but I’m also kinda leading towards finishing Triton early. You’ve got him most of the way there already, so it isn’t as much of a chore. Plus, he pairs so well with Kiril (who you already have two of) or Ariel (family bonus and plus to heal!) that he’d make my list somewhere in the next three.

I definitely agree with you Gallow. What’s preventing that right now is my lack of a fourth cape!! Based on the blues I have, he would definitely be my next blue to ascend, pending a fourth cape, and hopefully a sharp influx in gloves! (4 Gloves vs. 11 Compasses)

Missed that part! I got all excited checking out your roster and forgot to actually read the mats you had beyond the 4 gloves part.

Your and my roster combined would make a super roster. We’re at a similar stage of the game, but you’ve got all kinds of maxed 5* healers and I’ve got all kinds of maxed 5* hitters.

Wanna trade some pieces??

You leave my healers alone!!!

Actually, I would love a couple big 5* hitters. This last bloody battle event was fun, but facing so many 5* defenses with mostly 4* hitters, I didn’t make it to the end. And my defense was iffy with a lack of 5* non-healers!

I typically have 5 heroes on my “Leveling” team, on of each color. It’s Team Slot 1 for me, so it’s the top of my roster, so they’re easy to find to feed.

I feed until I’m done, and then switch to the next hero of that color in my queue.

So there’s never a jumbled mess of partially leveled heroes.

Shrikewood should be up within the next few days, so you’ll get a Sturdy Shield there.

Frostmarch will be next up after that, so a Warm Cape isn’t far behind.

Avalon Legendary also has another Sturdy Shield.

Very reasonable!

This is why I suggested Triton as a higher priority than another red, but only if the mats became available.

He pairs well with Proteus and Gadeirus too, and of course any healer, so lots of combo options.

You’ve pulled a lot of Hidden Blades! I like the idea of doubling down on some of the stronger 4* heroes like Buddy and Proteus if you’re all-in for war but how do you feel about depth for the class quests? Hu Tao is good for war but also a solid Fighter. I would consider saving your shields if you think you’ll draw a Caedmon anytime soon. Or maybe bring up that second Evelyn for another fast green war debuff instead.

I would love a Caedmon! However, I am currently not running any TC20’s since I have so many things to level, so my chances of drawing anything are severely limited! I’m saving all EHT’s for the next event where I can use them, and I don’t plan on using gems to draw during Atlantis, depending on what heroes are available next time.

I really only have one class quest I struggle with, but I still complete all of them. Generally that one, I just carpet bomb the boss stage of the 4000TP level. Otherwise, they are pretty easy.

A second Evelyn is definitely a possibility too. I’ve read multiple threads on here that she is still pretty effective at 3x70. And I’m very reluctant to use a 2nd set of Tonics to get a 2nd copy up to 4x80.

See!! I can’t miss!!

Jeez @Lloyd6770, wanna share a few of those warm capes? They are the bane of my EP experience so far!!
Or
You could open a warm cape store in Siberia and make a fortune!!

P.S either way I’m in

If you don’t mind me asking how long you been playing this game

He’s been on the forum for about a year, so I’m going to guess just about that long?

I don’t actually know! Do you know of a way to find when the app was downloaded? I’m on iOS.

If I had to guess, I’d say 15-16 months, as I didn’t find this forum right away.

@PapaHeavy
Thanks just wanted to know I don’t have all the characters he has but somewhat comparable in the 4* area. I only have 2 5* Evelyn & Inari. Neither are fully leveled though.
Great advice question with some good answers & help with what I have
