Alliance war - player from enemy alliance joining and leaving

Is it a duplicate thread?

Actually, assuming this is a real tactic, then the next logical step is to have your whole alliance not level any heroes between war end and the start of the next war. That could be a lot of leveling - easily enough to influence a war.

I have done that in the past… but too lazy to do it again

Not my whole alliance though… just myself…

Is anyone experiencing alliance war opposition infiltration with an “open” alliance?" My alliance was open and experienced two opposing Russian team members, one a co-leader and the other an elder, who joined our open team after matchmaking. They screenshot our battlefield lineup, said some horrific Russian curse words, then we booted them. Of course, they were back on their team quickly. Just recently, experienced an individual joining a few days prior to war, stating they were from Yemen, name “William” written in Arabic and English, with the statemen, “Lahad of the heart does the Lavon Anglia.” Then this individual hit our titan to gain trust, and just after the alliance war matchmaking, quit and we’re left with 6 fags. The statement of “Lahad, etc.” - truth of the heart does the Lavon Anglia - well, this was false-flag operation many, many years ago by the Israeli and to be carried out in Anglia or, that area of the UK. Is any other alliance experience this? We are not top 10; we are about 250+ and are international. Thanks! Chocholatte

Never experienced this as an open alliance myself. We have a trophy requirement though which limits the players who can join, but this is mostly because we don’t want noobs who will leave for the next game the following week.

If they’re cursing and saying inappropriate things, then submit a support ticket about it. I have experienced something like that before (opposing members in other team had inappropriate slurs as usernames) and they took action about it :stuck_out_tongue:

If they join after matchmaking, those players lost their right to attack you.

Not a really smart move if just to sputing some nonsense in a foreign language?

They were in their own alliance during matchmaking. Then joined ours just after, we booted the second time they came back and they were indeed on the battlefield opposing us. (We won!) Mercs do it all the time, particularly the russian teams. They go into an alliance just prior to matchmaking, leave when it’s over and then return just prior to war and are able to participate since they were in their alliance during matchmaking.

Hate to be a stickler for false flag history, but the idea of Lahad was to detonate explosives all over Egypt and blame them on the Muslim Brotherhood, in order to force the British to keep their occupying troops near the Suez Canal. Still hilarious / nuts though. :bomb:

Thanks for correcting. Thing is, now we’re 6 flags down. Unsportsman thing to do.

There are two things that, if implemented in the game, would eliminate this practice:

  1. Only allow active war participants to access the battlefield. If this were the case it wouldn’t be possible for a spy to see an opposing alliance’s (i.e. the alliance on whom they are spying) defense prior to the beginning of the war.

  2. Create an dedicated in-game war chat with the same access requirements. This would prevent spies from eavesdropping on strategy discussions. This would be a better solution than relying on 3rd party chat apps like Line or Discord because access could be directly tied to the player’s war participation in-game.

Thank you @HappyPixie!!! I totally missed this when I searched, but I’m old

So they are spying after matchmaking is complete! I always check out the members of the team we are facing, time in alliance, SH defense team it helps me get a feel for my alliances approach in a war. I’d certainly notice a name from a team I just looked at on the opponents side…although, once again see below :joy:

I blame all my shortcoming on that!! Perfect scapegoat!!

See how useful that is @HappyPixie

These are good ideas @Anaea! I’d like to add “with the exception of elders/longtime members. Even if not participating players still like the spectator mode. Plus I’d imagine they would learn more from chat.

Personally I’m not concerned if the find out we are taking all their below 3000TP out immediately and will do it again in 6 hours. Not much they can do to stop it :joy:

But it just seems like a lowdown, dirty thing to do. It’s a game. Don’t be Bill Belichick!!! Win without cheating!!!

@PapaHeavy they joined right before matchmaking, and left right before War started. Lvl 44

That’s nothing to do with your war opponent. Just a random player who doesn’t know or doesn’t care about the effect. Possible upset former member of your alliance who changed their name and did this to you.

@HappyPixie, how would they have know they were going to be matched with your team if they joined before matchmaking?
I’m asking because this seems to happen quite often in my alliance as well. I’m trying to figure out how they would even have a clue as to whom they would be matched with. There’s a LONG list of alliances, if they went through and somehow figured out who they would be matched with BEFORE matchmaking, I know a casino I would like to bring them to  But seriously if you had advanced knowledge of what team matchmaking would choose I’d like to use that!! I’ll train some spies!!

I get the spy joining after matchmaking is completed and am always suspicious of those types. My alliance seems to think anyone joining right before a war is a spy. Some obviously were.

We don’t think it’s someone who we’re going to fight, we think it’s someone we’ve either fought before or a disgruntled ex member. It’s happened twice now. But it’s ok, we’ve started shutting down right before matchmaking until Wars over. Many Thanks @PapaHeavy

You know @HappyPixie, I never considered shutting down the alliance prior to war. The players that do show up then are just a distraction to the rest of the alliance. Why this never occurred to me…most likely because I’m as bright as a wet match? Thank you!!
