Alliance name character limit?

My alliance leader’s inactive, and I’m thinking of breaking off & starting my own. I’m brainstorming alliance names. Could someone please tell me what the maximum length of a name is? My favorite ideas are pretty long. Seven Days Departed is 19 characters and it’s probably the longest name I’ve seen. Is the limit 20 then?

Hmnnn. When trying to edit the Alliance Name in the alliance page, only 24 characters are allowed for the new alliance name. It may be longer if one creates a new alliance. I am not sure about it though.
