Alliance Member Not In War

Hello, one of my alliance mates was in wars in the past, but they are telling me that since the last war update they haven’t been able to attack (I’m not sure how long ago they mean by that). I checked and the last 2 or 3 wars they are not part of the battlefield at all.

I asked them to check to make sure the box is checked to opt into participating in wars and they said that it was. I asked them to open a support ticket, but in the meantime is there anything that I am missing? Is there another reason they might not be able to participate in alliance wars that is an easy fix?

They also won’t be allowed to participate in war if they field an incomplete defense, even if they have the box checked. When they can set their defense for the next war, make sure they field 5 heroes and troops.
