Because I am currently top titan hitter in my alliance, I depleted fast my reserves of Grimoire Dust, so I cannot make more Tornadoes and mana potions. I do have though small mana potions that I use, but they are… small
I do use the regular strategy heroes wise: Gazelle + elemental def down + def down + high tile damage + other support heroes.
However, without tornadoes and mana pots my hits are very board dependent and sometimes during one hit I only get tiles to charge the specials for my heroes. I am also not very good in general at playing timed things.
I am just wondering if you have any advice on what items to take or how to approach these hits in general. Currently I take arrows for blind, axes for attack down, minor mana potions and sometimes time stops or antidotes. Since I am using Gazelle, there is no point in taking buff banners.
What level titans? I would go bigger items til you get to like B damage then scale to small items (axes, banners, minor Mana, antidotes, etc). I’ve fought 14* Titans for about a year following this method and often in B, sometimes A, sometimes C… But you can’t go all out every titan, just not enough mats.
Arrows only really work if you won’t be one shot while waiting to charge, so probably on 10 / 11* or smaller
I usually get 2 heroes to fire their specials at the start, Wu Kong for Attack plus 1 other for Def Down. For me, Midnight Roots and Grimoire Dust were in short supply. Also, it consumed a lot of ham. Each special costs 43k / 82.2k ham for mana / super mana pots so approx 250k - 500k ham every day for 6 flags.
Now I use minor mana potions which is only 2.68k ham per special. It takes slightly longer to fire up the specials but is extremely cost effective for ham and no shortage of crafting materials.
Other staples are the occasional tornado and time stop (especially for rare titans).
Like you, my alliance is taking down 9*-10* titans and defeated an 11* titan yesterday. With this strategy, I’m usually A+/A with on average of ~50k damage per flag and when the boards are friendly 100k.
@The_Seeker Just a suggestion: Any chance you can help your teammates to improve their titan hits, so you don’t feel the need to stay top titan hitter on every titan?
Otherwise I suggest following set up for non-rares:
Small mana / Harpoon or axe / Medium health or small antidote (depending on titan) / Bear banner*
*Sometimes I’ll use a bear banner before a hero special is charged, instead of using mana pots on a hero with attack buff. I prefer to use small mana since they are cheapest to craft.
I have put quite a bit of effort in it, but not all people like to analyze and try different combinations. Learning takes time depending on how open you are to it
Thanks a lot for the advice, seems I’m on the right track
Cool! Also, I forgot to add that Treevil has been a nice addition (MVP!). I mostly use him for yellow and purple titans while Wu Kong is used for every colour. Planning to try out Franz from Clash of Knights for red titans too.
Good point. I also use Treevil for holy titans, but I should try it for dark as well since right now I use Wilbur. Unfortunately Clash of Knights gave me half a dozen of Wrens, but no Franz
I’d like your reply but I’m currently out of likes. Again.
I think it’s good that you understand your teammates too. Some teammates could be missing key titan heroes. I’ve been playing 4+ years, and I still use Wu Kong with Costume Bonus on every titan except dark.
Yeah, that is true, plus I prefer to bother them more about how to organise their war defenses and how to approach their attacks and I think there is a limit to how much people can focus on at one time
You can use battle items and titan flasks to increase titan damage, but as you already know, only the teammate can control their participation, defence set-up etc in war.
I’m my alliance top hitter and ALWAYS use small mana pots. It’s simply cheaper and do the work. I hit 10*/11* titans just like you. When I’m short on tornadoes, I switch to time-stops. Changing is kinda required with those growing weapon heavy events and lesser room for farm in the game.
I also sometimes use bear banners when my dragon banner stock is low. I don’t find any interest in using the turtle as my goal is to do high score.
Small + middle mana pots are my main combination. 1 middle + 2 small to fire my Miki and the same for another hero when the board looks interesting and I’m done.
I can offer my bit of advice. A long time ago, when I was hitting titans with everything I got, I was constantly out of mana and small mana potions. The moment I stopped hitting big titans my item reserves got big enough to safely waste in Towers and Challenge events. And recently I am able to kill a 6* or even 7* without using almost any items thanks to my alt accounts. So if you want to increase your overall damage output per titan while at the same time saving items (even Harpoons), I suggest you invest some time in creating at least a couple alt accounts.
Until you have solid 5* heroes for the titans, Wilbur is a godsend – defense down + survivability. That said, I’ve been transitioning away from him, and have very good luck (particularly in purple and yellow) without him.
My constant problem is tornadoes. I tend to use one when I can’t get an inital stunning match to build the mana up to where the specials are in reach. (Occasionally use 4 small manas to get Wilbur up and then roll the dice.) So, I’m trying to wean myself off of them.
My typical titan items are axe or harpoon / small mana / small antidote / tornado
One thing I noticed, no matter what kind of resource you overuse, it gets depleted pretty fast. So even if you go with cheaper items like Bear Banners, Antidotes, Arrow/Axe attacks or especially Minor Mana poitions, those will soon end. Since farming WE is capped, so are crafting mats and/or eventual battle items you may get as rewards from various quests. So the only way I know (short of making multiple alts) in order to have enough mats to craft items is to Gem-refill your farming WE. That is the second alternative. First requires time investment (making several alts), second requires money investment. Third option is to watch slowly how your item supply is drained. Fourth is not using almost any items when hitting a titan. I think that these are the only viable options.
