My boards are bad, my summons poor
The titan seeks to crush me
The ticking timer for the war
Ever seems to rush me
But if a lift my gaze above
My phone’s hypnotized glow
There’s a world outside that’s buckling
Amidst the virus throes
So while I cursed the scattered tiles in my introspect frustration
I forgot my friends and neighbours in their lonely isolation.
This sickness is at war with us, it strikes the fabric of our life
It’s cut us off from family like a cruel and callous knife.
We will defeat this enemy
Not with the soldiers art
But through selfless dedication of each and every heart.
Look to those around you,
And even those afar
The kindness that you show them
Is the best of who we are.
